Why do you even need to run latest OS on such old hardware anyway, just stick to similarly old windows OS version still receiving security updates(aka win 8.1) or switch to linux. Btw no. of cores has nothing to do with it, a dual core 8th gen intel processor is almost as fast as quad core 6th gen intel processor.
You can easily try Enterprise 2015 LTSB and find out how it works out for you. It can be a pain to get it uptodate though.
Yeah I mean, it makes sense to have as many activation options (purchase paths) as possible. What is odd, and I didn't know at the time I made those comments, is that they didn't have regular LTSC versions with HWID activation for sale. Sometimes these large businesses make some decisions that really baffle the mind from a consumer standpoint. For the life of me I don't understand why they won't sell a de-bloated Windows to end users and just leave a bootstrap downloader to the store if people would like to download it.
Any tip how to totally eradicate (or at least disable, lol) Defender on this build? I thougt it was like on LTSC 2019 and not like on the mainstream Windows 10.

Disable manually, and then use the GPO. You can do many things in GPO without the need for third party applications.
I disable it in the ISO before install via MSMG Toolkit (which pre-completes step 3-A below), then via GPEDIT.msc after install for good measure. Some of these things have changed or no longer exist in gpedit, but basically this: Code: 1. Go to Settings -> Apps -> Startup and disable Windows Security notification icon 2. Open gpedit.msc and go to: -Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender Antivirus. Open the Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus policy and set it to Enabled. -Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender Application Guard. Open the Turn on Windows Defender Application Guard in Enterprise Mode policy, set it to Enabled and set it's data value to 0. -Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender Exploit Guard -> Exploit Protection. Open the Use a common set of exploit protection settings policy and set it to Disabled. -Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender SmartScreen -> Explorer. Open the two policies there and set them both to Disabled. -Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Defender SmartScreen -> Microsoft Edge. Open the first policy there and set it to Disabled. 3. Open regedit and go to: A. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SecurityHealthService Start = set to 4 B. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run delete SecurityHealth 4. Reboot If I am not mistaken Windows 11 ignores all this and turns it back on, but it still seems to work for LTSC 2021.
Noticed that, too. Went ahead and integrated my LivePE with recovery tools instead, since it was only 200mb larger than MS' suckfest boot.wim How can people at MS have so much knowledge, and yet so little attention to detail that you'd miss something crazy big like that? Just inconceivable, and it really reduces confidence in their products. Literally, a homebrew modded OS by almost anyone has seen more attention to detail than this. Are they in crisis?
Clipboard is working after installing "VCLibs.140.00", but it's not storing history of copies made using incognito mode from browser.
Spent a few days messing around with LTSC/21H2 in Virtual Machines after cleaning up the image/getting my DISM scripts updated to deal with minor changes between LTSC/1809 and this release. Did a fresh install of the newly built image on actual hardware (secondary gaming machine)… Honestly if you are happy with LTSC/1809 and don't play games that require features from later release (Forza etc.) I would probably save the trouble of a reinstall until you really need it. Benchmarking performance is essentially identical/margin of error, I took multiple runs before/after reinstall and they within 1% of each other. There are a few improvements/cleanup of some minor bugs, a little less complaining in the Event Log, and I don't really mind Edge after playing with it, but otherwise I don't see any major benefits to switching.
