With the last cumulative update anyone got a failed install (rolling back changes) and the the start menu and then end up with the start menu and search not working? Thanks
Reading back a page usually helps : https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...terprise-2016-ltsb.73435/page-35#post-1452642
I did read. Downloading from the windows catalog doesn't work. I end up with the same error I described above.
@JaguarXJ12 Read from this post; you can obviously install it, but you will be stuck with older kernel which may bring further (often forced) compatibility and performance issues.
@JaguarXJ12 try it first for a few days, there will certainly be some issues with latest gen hardware but whether those issues affect your usage/software you use is another thing.
Thanks guys, while I do have an ISO of 1803 of Windows 10 Enterprise I'm not quite happy about installing it. If LTSB 2016 won't work satisfactionally I might just have to wait for LTSC 2018.
I am going to wait; the new release is just a few months away. I have the Ryzen chip which wasn’t around when the present LTSB was released.
I was waiting for the LTSC 2018 but finally fed up with RS4 and installed it. I no longer have a digital activation but I am happy that I did. It certainly feels lighter and faster. Using i7 8700K, Z370, M.2 SSD and Optane. I was previously worried about how LTSB would behave with optane. I did have issues with the latest optane version 16.5.1.1030 where the service was not starting. Uninstalled the software and installed v16.0.2.1086. Latest Realtek audio driver does not support LTSB, so installed the previous version. Everything is fine now.
LTSB runs very well and is extremely stable on my 1950x, x399 etc. 1803 might be newer but in my experience, is unstable.
LTSB users, what do you use as a photo viewer? I liked the Photos app in pro. It can be used to view and crop photos.
Irfanview is excellent for bulk photo editing but I don't like the look. I was actually looking for something that looks nice.
I tried a load of them but picasa beats them hands down. It has transparency which went well with w7 aero. I use gimp portable for editing wallpapers
I install and use XnView 2.45 most of the time. But for some tasks I find FastStone Image Viewer 6.2 portable more comfortable to use.
