Oh boy, am I embarrassed. My apologies to all of you that spent their time trying to solve a non-problem. abbodi1406's post above to stop usosvc was the correct solution. I've been on so many PC's lately and I was under the impression that I had done the updates for September with W10UI. That was definitely a senior moment on my part . Anyway, this time I definitely did the updates and got rid of the list after stopping usosvc and running Retry. Again, my apologies.
History only shows when updates installed from WU or by running msu file directly, not with DISM Installed Updates panel is always reliable
LTSB is good for daily use right ? to install it on my laptop ? I like the fact that it doest not include the store apps .
it is, doesn't matter what microsoft says. it's how windows 10 should be or atleast almost. no store, no apps, no upgrades 2 times a year with almost no new useless features and so on. if you don't care about the apps, ltsb is perfectly fine to use.
I am facing problems updating Windows 10. OS: Windows 10 LTSB Winver: 1607 OS Build 14393.2396 Facing problems, I ran this script to clear updates folder: Code: @echo off cls net stop wuauserv net stop bits rename c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak net start wuauserv net start bits pause Then, I rebooted. After, this I tried to run the standalone installer files. I get "update is not applicable to your computer"... from the very beginning. I am also on a metered connection. 1. SSU = KB4132216 [I have this installed from long time ago; same error on trying as below] 2. Flash = KB4457146 [I get update is not applicable to your computer error] 3. Dotnet472 = KB4054590 [I get update is not applicable to your computer error] 4. CU = KB4457131 [I get update is not applicable to your computer error] I ran Windows update and it downloaded windows malicious software removal tool Sep 2018 only. Still on the same patch level. What else can I do to fix this?
Note: created thread here to keep LTSB 2016 section clean @Enthousiast tried to help me here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...terprise-2016-ltsb.73435/page-43#post-1462540 ... not sure, should I be using MSMG?
Updated my post in the 2016 LTSB thread: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...terprise-2016-ltsb.73435/page-43#post-1462540 MSMG is fine to use for many options but at updating it's a bit weird (imho).
1. SSU = KB4132216 must be installed prior to specific CU, e.g. 14393.2396 and 14393.2485. No need to reinstall, and cannot be reinstalled (unless playing trick) 2. Check SHA1 of each .msu. If not matched, redownload by other means until OK e.g. windows10.0-kb4457131-x64_a4b53b04e7398bd10fbfbb54df4ae6e10b877d22.msu

@Enthousiast did not know what the heck you were doing, now I get it! Integrating the latest updates into the images so it is up to date! I need to stop being a ninny and give MSMG another go. The video tutorial scared me off : ) So, do you have to separately download updates using the WHDownloader or does MSMG do that as well?
SSU is pre-req of some specific CUs, permanent, cannot be reinstalled or removed (unless trick played).
