Enthousiast.... it helps heaps, i only just started fiddling with ltsd 2016 , so helps a bunch, BIG THANK YOU!
Seems i've just had a crash coarse with the dreaded Windows 10 Update Assistant V2.... which comes with the Oct update.... anybody else that would put out these kind of stuff, they'd call it a virus ot malware... but M$ does and it's a feature... go figure....
Was'nt running it...just popped up and started doing it's thing... i've already tried uninstalling and deleting it...but it comes back.
Comes back after reboot.... deleing only corrupts image ... so the sfc says after scan... it lives in the winsxs folder ,so it's hardcoded in there....waste of time updating this....
Is this the LCU failing to integrate into x86? @xinso Do you know if msft dropped support for any older hardware since 14393.0 until 14393.7428.1.7 ? I was looking for a win 10 version with the broadest support for legacy 32 bit cpus and this one seemed to fit best. I would try to install from updated iso and if hardware was not supported then I would try the original .0 iso.
Sorry about this question. I am interested in image Reconstruction only, for I don't have old devices to test on, let alone x86.
I may be misunderstanding the question, but the reason I stopped using LTSB 2016 and moved to LTSC 2021 (or a Slimdown10 version of 22H2) was my Nvidia GTX 1060 drivers refused to install on it. "Unsupported OS". Now I could have just used an older graphics driver, but that is one thing I like to keep current. I don't think it was MS so much as Nvidia to blame for that one. Probably to do with using newer versions of WDDM (Windows Device Driver Management)...so it's sort of MS, sort of Nvidia, but the point is, I would have had to "freeze" the entire rig in 2018 or so.
I have no intention of using LTSB 2016, other than being a compatibility tool which may never be used, but good to have an iso of.
