Windows 10 LTSB 2016 (1607) as well as Server 2016 were just announced to receive ESU for another 3 years! EOL is set for 2029/2030. I hope LTSC 2019 will receive the same treatment
What does this mean for IoT though ? For IoT, it won't be available through Microsoft but only directly from OEMs ? So each OEM can have their own specific updates ?
This is only for licensing (purchashing) ESU keys Client-IoT-ESU-YearX = You must get from OEM (similar to ESU for Win7 Embedded) Client-ESU-YearX = You get from VLSC and other enterprise channels why are you concerned? there is no actual IoT Enterprise LTSB 2016, Client-ESU-YearX works for all it's just legal technicalities
I installed 1607 last night and it was great! I'd use it but I rely on tar, curl, and Edge for games. It's interesting seeing UWP control panel changes over-time: Simple 1607, more complex 21H2, and bad-enough 11 24H2 I dread a little having to go through it
