If not upgrading, no deletion Only when upgrading you need at least an iso of build 17763.55 or higher. 17763.1 LTSC iso's can be downloaded by using SVF2ISO by @s1ave77
At first I installed the N version, and noticed the issue, then I installed the normal version and the issue persisted.
You easily can, just tested some minutes ago. The S-Mode activates with the HWID of the full edition. In that case the switch back is Free . Spoiler: ProfessionalWorkstation S-Mode
I've just completed the installation of LTSC on my own system. Before that, I had already installed it on several PC's so to spot potential issues and/or pitfalls. For the MDL member who can't install it on MBR, you have to rebuild the MBR. I've had these issues before. You do it manually or with a tool (minitool partition wizard free will do). You say you never mess with partitions but sometimes you will have to. If you have a disk with several partitions, you can use the last partition(s) for backup and just delete the OS partition and system partition and, by means of diskpart, recreate them. But first try the MBR rebuild, that is the easiest way to solve this. Make sure your system partition is at least 260MB. Also make sure you don't exceed the maximum number of primary partitions on your system, when using MBR there are limits. EFI compatible systems do not suffer from this, GPT disks don't have MBR. If your system supports EFI, it's recommended to go that route. In regards to booting from USB, I've had no issues with RS5 or any earlier version for that matter. To deploy, I'm using the XPE builder from theoven.org. That gives me the PE environment I need with maximum flexibility. It boots just fine, be it from ISO burned on DVD or copied to USB HD. Sometimes, old bioses may be buggy when it comes to USB booting. You can use grub4dos to relieve some of those issues, but it's a bit more work to set it up. That said, I took the plunge and installed LTSC 2019, modified with GodHand's powershell script. The only (minor) issue I've had was with the file associations reverting, but that's all. This release is not "buggy" as people state, if there are issues they are minor ones and no deal breaker. All drivers installed without a hitch, no audio nor video issues. LTSC 2019 is faster than LTSB 1607, I'm using this system a lot daily to get my work done, so really I'm rather happy the way it runs atm. Cheers.
I create AiO's and use the boot.wim from the consumer iso, all works fine when installing LTSC on my old first release i5 xxx laptop (MBR only).
that's strange. did you install win10 LTSC 2019 refresh iso ? 17763.107 ? if so, maybe the CU is the source of your audio problem, try with just iso baseline (17763.1) and see what happens.
same. i don't know what this is. since the first ltsc 2019 iso got released, people got crazy over bugs which aren't there or affecting not even 1% of the people using ltsc 2019. it seems like for every clueless person who posts something about those "groundbreaking bugs" atleast 5 people need to tell others that it's fine to use and that there is no reason at all to stay on older versions. well to each his own, no one NEEDS to upgrade, especially if you are on ltsb 2016 right now. but like i said already, there is also no reason to not upgrade, since everything works just fine.
Anyone got the wmr working on ltsc? doesnt seem to be able to launch it even after installing the store and portal.
I tried the 17763.1 LTSC and still can't boot via USB. BSOD isn't the same: "Driver unloaded without cancelling pending operations"...
Hello, is this the lates version of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019? 17763.107.101029-1455.rs5_release_svc_refresh_CLIENT_LTSC_EVAL_x64FRE_en-us.iso (I downloaded from here: microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise) Can I use it with Volume Licence key? Thank you
LTSB is working fine for me at this time, I will give MS time to polish the new release before I upgrade.
