You can do what you want. I take out defender, PPIProfection, QuickAssist, People, Fax, IE, Holographic, and add Edge, Store, and DVD Player. But, I do this with my own scripts.
Does changing the group-policies in W10 Enterprise (Allow Telemetry -> 0 - Off) really stop the most telemetry in W10 or is it just snake-oil for companies by Microsoft?
I install all of the very absolute latest updates, and all my drivers to a mounted install.wim. I always install with internet enabled. I don't mess with telemetry, and use default settings. I have never had a problem at all.
Read the small print. Microsoft explains very well what data they gather. Nobody actually reads this so you get all the stupid articles about how MS spies on you... Its not spying when you consent.
For LTSC (and other versions as well probably) there's some registry settings that disable *all* of the telemetry. I think they cover all of it, but haven't verified myself. Then you can disable a couple of telemetry related services as well. I don't think they're so intent on gathering data it's impossible to shut all of it off.
Fresh installation of LTSC 2019 x64 on a 64-bit tablet (RCA Cambio). It's set to allow remote connections, not restricted to network level authentication. I have set countless computers this way and I can always connect to them. But this one won't allow it. Version 10.0.17763.194 and it's activated with KMS-VL-ALL. Any ideas why this computer is being difficult? Edit: Solved. This is what happens when you don't set a password on the target computer.
I'm still on Windows 7 and been trying to get this working for an hour. It seems this script requires at least Windows 8 as it depends on the Storage module for PowerShell. So for me, it's not an option to use Optimize-Offline even though it probably would suit my needs.
I've never had it happen on LTSB/1607, and don't recall it happening on quick installs of 1803 either. Only had it happen on LTSC/1809 so far. Does anyone else notice this happening or have any idea what would trigger it? The start menu sometimes gets reset seemingly out of nowhere (I only notice it after I go to it at a random time; there's no visible indication of when or if it happened prior), and settings set after that point don't save, or apply if I recall correctly.
Ok guys the question I have is kinda unnecessary but I am going for a full ltsc installation for the first time and I want to ask about any changes in the start menu/overall ui : are the default options available like transparency and acrylic blur etc etc?Can I still have tiles in the start menu? Can I have the modern apps installed via windows store: calculator, groove music player? Thanks in advance
