Nevertheless, I play the odd game on LTSC, updated with latest patches and no problem at all. Every once in a while people are making a big deal over "faulty releases" while in reality only a few are affected, if at all. Cheers.
I run the latest ltsc for gaming only and i have zero issues. Hardware is 8700k/16gb 3200mhz ram/ evga 1080ti/ xbone controller running via Bluetooth.
can someone pls find me a link/magnet to download en_windows_10_consumer_edition_version_1809_updated_feb_2019_x64_dvd_258dbd0b.iso I'm not able to grab it days shuffling through pages.
Same here, not yet found anything I've needed LTSC can't do. As far as I know it's the same under the hood as the other editions, just without a few "features". The intent of LTSC is for things like kiosks and terminals that don't require "new features", but I think that's just more MS marketing crap than anything else. It's still the same Windows 10 1809. In fact I'm pleasantly surprised with how well it runs on my late model "gaming" laptop.
I'm sitting at .379 right now which is the March update. I've read of some issues with the April updates so I'm holding back, maybe unnecessarily. My machine runs so good right now I'm afraid to touch it. I have had some issues with updates in the past so I tend to err on the side of caution. Maybe wait til the May update and see what people say about that one.
BTW, does anybody know how to fix the file association bug from LTSC? I've tested this both in real hardware and VMs, but whenever I change the default file associations and then get to a file affected by that change, Windows shows a notification saying that the default association was reset (that is a lie, as the file will open with the association you've set). I've read in this thread that the bug was fixed with the December 2018 RP CU, but I downloaded the February refresh iso and even then I got the bug.
File associations are kludgey at best with Windows 10. I can't really figure out what it's doing. Sometimes if I associate a file extension it will go ahead and open it using the desired app without asking and other associations it puts up a selection panel. I can't figure out which end is up with this thing. I just live with it at this point. I chalk it up as something they did poorly with win10, among lots of other things.
Hey guys, Can we get "official" checksums anywhere? Like from the MS website, or a more trusted source than @LostED? For all I know you're one o' dem russian hackers.
Buy official MS subscription, for all you know I might be one of dem fbi men & you are now on watchlist.
