Yeah, lets post chefft...s copy/paste projects.... If downloading one source iso and one self running svf patch and next running the exe next to the iso, is to hard to do, i really wonder why in hell you would need LTSC anyway...
I wanted this edition because wiki says ---- > ' Some features, including the Microsoft Store and bundled apps, are not included in this edition ' AND ...... The second post in this thread says ' The next LTSC release, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019, will be available in the fall of 2018. In keeping with the previous Long-Term Servicing Channel releases, this release will have the same features as the Windows 10 Semi-Annual Channel release made available at the same time – with the usual exceptions (including apps that are often updated with additional functionality, including the in-box apps, Microsoft Edge, and Cortana). ' BUT ...... when i look at it i see 50 aps ?---- >
Thank you . I read it . Its typical microcrap = Not written clearly = They say if we cut things some microcrap things wont work ...... but doesnt say that those things cant be done with other software . I dont see any disadvantages with the N version because i dont want any of those things anyway ...... as long as i could still use winamp or MPC-HC64 to listen to music ? I just want a system with the least possible microcrap bloat ...... that i can cut down further with other tools like NTLite . I'll take a look at the education version .
Read to the list of features affected by this. How many times have we seen people whining about, this doesn't work, that doesn't work, how can i update to a non N version, etcetc... Just install Education and you have the most configurable and leanest non LTSC SKU. For the "debloat" nuts. And have fun with crippling it by clueless chopping.
If you are going to use NTLite whatever edition of Windows you use the result in the end will be the same as long as you use Enterprise or Education skus for all group policies like telemetry = security level to work. Home edition has all these components that you mentioned except maybe one or other and doesn't have group policy editor... N versions not only remove WMP but all codecs as well so firefox and chrome will complain on some sites and lav filters won't solve it, if you are going to use an adobe program like premiere pro or after effects they will ask you to install WMP, if you plug an android smartphone into the pc you won't be able to transfer the files, some games will have problems playing videos and others will not install even with codec pack or lav filters installed so I see no advantage in using a version that has several restrictions instead of using a full version and removing only what you don't want. The cleanest edition you will find will be LTSB/LTSC will be wasting time looking for another.
Thanks for the pointers. After some research I know I also need 4 "Features On Demand" ISOs if I want the "complete" language pack. uupdump is a better alternative, however their CMD scripts cannot restore original filenames, missing suffix like "-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~". Dism refuses to install incorrectly named CABs, so I manually rename them. It turns out uup.rg-adguard provides correct renaming scripts.
Hi, i am newbie, thanks for your patience. Basically, someone in my family gave as a present an xbox game pass code, so i have 3 months for "free". After some research now i know that most of the games require windows 10 1903 but i installed LTSC a few months ago and i very happy with it. Is there a way that i can like install the "normal" windows 10 in an external hard drive without messing with my Windows 10 LTSC? I have 1 TB HDD, 1 SSD of 240 GB and 2 USB HDD of 500 GB each, i want to install windows 10 1903 only to play a few games, then cancel everything and go back to my LTSC, the thing i have no clue where to start. Oh, by the way, if i install another windows in my external HDD, that windows installation can use the same HDDs AND SSDs than LTSCs instalation use for normal data like movies, games, and programs? or every drive is "locked" to an OS?
you can install W10 LTSC in one fixed drive and W10 1903 in the other, or in two different partitions on the same drive (it is the so-called dual-boot). the two installations are independent and the choice to start one or the other takes place after POST. when you no longer need it you can easily delete 1903. to use a portable external drive you have to do a WindowsToGo installation, which is more complex and has limitations (it's not good to play because the response speed is less) regards
Thanks for the answers. I think i will try the partition in a new SSD i will buy, but can you explain me what is an EFI System and why do i need to back up that?
That's where your boot loader is located. When you install another OS, Windows will modify the boot loader and add another entry for the 2nd OS so you can dual boot. If you decide to not keep the 2nd OS after 3 months you can just delete the 2nd OS and restore the original EFI System partition backup you created.
Is a november refresh ISO planned for Windows Enterprise LTSC 2019 ? It seems that Server 2019 has been refreshed, and they both share a lot of the code. It would be very easy for Microsoft to also release a refresh for its sibling!
