KMS is also not a legit activation by itself. In East Europe and elsewhere Microsoft has been "greasing" politicians for decades in order to not only get big-money contracts in anything state-run, but also supplement routine tax checks for private businesses with software licenses verification. Without proof of contract or individual purchase, KMS hack means nothing (and due to it's periodic refresh nature, the "it came with the pc" from 2nd hand market can't be used as an excuse, unlike retail / upgraded). Most small companies that can't afford a "get genuine" deal from Microsoft, are usually bribing the inspectors or higher up the food chain to make it go away.. until next time. People are quick to forget that Microsoft went hard after private individuals as well not so long ago. Sure, they've changed their front approach with Windows 10, free as in freely grabbing user's data, but they never stopped fighting piracy. And just as they were about to reach their quota, a global pandemic hits and user's data is starting to lose it's value. Who knows what Microsoft will do next.
Isn't that what we're talking about? It's a thread about LTSC that can only be activated by a KMS server, either local/LAN/WAN (legit or otherwise)
No, there are also a few not-so-legal (stolen) activation keys of other channels floating around, usually MAK. MAK does not need to be reactivated periodically, but if you ever lose activation, the key must still be valid and have remaining activations, as MAK is online activation (KMS is not, the prime reason for its 180 days restriction).
does anyone have the SHA1 and SHA256 Checksums for: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 x64 German ISO? Or, anyone knows a good source for hashes? THX
This is the info I was looking for. I was under the impression that MAK keys *also* checked in every 180 days. I see them listed in VLSC above the KMS keys and wrongly assumed they had the same rules. Thanks for the re-education. Every day's a school day Also, apologies for the thread derail.
Virtually all license channels check the current activation and system license for validity (sppsvc runs regularly). Even KMS does that by default (acquiring Genuine tickets can be disabled, though). But, when neglecting EVAL licenses, only KMS has an actual counter that counts down (usually from 180 days). They made it intentionally that way, so that KMS clients HAVE to refresh the activation periodically. Note that refresh periods are much lower as 180 days, the default is 7 days. 180 days is only the upper limit, after which the activation actually expires. It will start nagging much sooner (last 30 days). In other words, with an actual, permanent KMS activation service (or an emulator) being present, the counter will never go below ~173, as the automatic refresh occurs every week.
In this forum this is what to expect, you'll have to learn how to download an english iso and a svf-file and putting those together.
yes, I have. but as others here already said.. the keys are being sold to multiple users and they stop working a few days/weeks later, when all the activations are used up, so you cannot reuse the key should you ever need to reactivate your LTSC installation later in the future. I would also recommend not to buy these keys and use a KMS solution. I bought such a key once, just for testing purposes and I quickly activated all the LTSC installations I had running at that time -andy-
OK, thanks for the info, I have been using the KMS route without issue's was just curious, Figured it was better to ask then try it and it not work.
without the tool from a former MDL member, which activates windows for like 30 years or so, (sadly not allowed in here) i would probably buy a stolen key for a few euros too, if i couldn't find a free one which still works. there are a few lists with free keys on google and if you check them every day multiple times, you will get one after sometime but im way too lazy these days. did it with the first LTSB version like this. activate it via phone activation and you are good to go until you format the next time, which should be a few years with a LTSC version running anyway. so then i buy another one for 5 euros. still better then using any normal KMS solutions, which are not permanent or run in the background all the time.
KMS solutions are free, and the ones from MDL are trusted, and with autorenewal it will be "permanent" too, and no criminal organization gains any money for the bogus keys. There is also no resources hogging by running a KMS solution.
i never said that they resourcing hogging, but they still run in the background, atleast if you use autorenewal and if not then it's not permanent. actually it's not even permanent with autorenewal. it's still 180 days but gets reactivated with every reboot. i don't care if it's from a big company or dev xy from a well known board. i don't want this running in the background on my system and i want a fully activated windows without any limits or reactivations all the time. . and you never know who sells what, why do you think it's a criminal "organization". it can be one person, so how it is this a criminal organization then? if microsoft doesn't release it for "normal" users, then i rather pay to so called criminal organization then using any KMS solution and like i said you can also get them stolen keys for free, you just need some patience.
