Edit: I have read this discussion & understand the difference. N is out the window. Please ignore this post. Hi, if this is the wrong place to post, but I cant seem to start a new post, just reply to threads. I don't know which of these iso's is Enterprise N LTSC 2019 en-uk_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2019_x64_dvd_723dfbc1 uk_windows_10_enterprise_ltsc_2019_x64_dvd_d40a905a Also which might be better for me. I don't want any of the following, Media Player, Camera, Music, TV & Movies, Cortana, Edge, Defender, Firewall & Bitlocker. I don't game on the PC. I do stream via OBS.
^ Hi try here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/discussion-windows-10-enterprise-n-ltsc-2019.76325/ and for modifications try here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/msmg-toolkit.50572/
All info about the three officially released Enterprise 2019 LTSC ISO builds, 17763.1 and 17763.316 contain N. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...b-17763-xxx-pc-rs5.77945/page-51#post-1467631 And, best to never use (crippled by design and enforced by EU Law) N editions!!!
I can guarantee you will notice how crippled it is when you start connecting android phones to the machine or visit websites that utilize certain components. ;-) The N editions are not noticeably lighter than regular non-N editions.
Still, it depends a lot on your usage. I don't connect android phones to my PC so that's a non-issue to me. I would be interested to know what websites fail to work on N editions. What is horrible to me is the lack of customization while installing any Windows version. Back on W95/W98 we could remove a lot of things during installation and the total install would be something like 200 MB. Today, 95% of all "features" are useless bloat and cannot be uninstalled or disabled by the average user, requiring almost 50 GB just to get an OS running. This is also true for most Linux distributions and phone OSs. The era of good optimized programs is long gone. A simple calculator requires the same space as W95 did.
Most people think that the lacking of mediafeatures equals less telemetry (they call it a different name) and thinks it's a feature but it's a crippled by design and enforced by EU law and never one client bought it nor was it ever pre-installed on oem equipment), most come back after a while and complain about stuff not working properly and ask for the MediaFeaturePack, sadly the pack doesn't restore all left out stuff.
>Still, it depends a lot on your usage. Yes ........ and all i do is surf ........... and it stops me doing what i want . Installing tha extra media package doesnt cure it . The n versionis a waste of time . Its crippled and doesnt do anyone any good ........ except microsoft . Get the LTSC version and cut the crap out . When i do that i can do everything i want on it . People ' think ' that the n version is smaller , leaner and cleaner and that their computer will suddenly be ' faster ' ........ but it isnt .
Updated the 1809 Updates Overview with the latest NDP48 Base CAB files: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-17763-xxx-pc-rs5.77945/page-216#post-1490183
At some point you will be forced to install the media feature pack which makes using an N edition pointless. Browsers are hardcoded to use Media Foundation and Windows codecs so any site containing media content may require installation of the media feature pack. And it's no use installing third-party codecs as browsers will ignore them.
Yes, it has nothing to do with browsers! everything works except you need to download ur own media player, like VLC OR BS.PLAYER etc...
I dont realy use any media features but the n version f**ked my surfing experience up because certain things wont work . Installing the media feature update pack didnt help . I'm suprised than anyone is still talking about it .
