I am not sure why (or what distribution) would give that warning. All I can say is that I have used that command on numerous Debian based distros ever since Systemd came along (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, etc). I have never seen a warning or experienced a problem. As we are straying off topic, it may be time to move to the Linux thread.
I'm using Fedora 34. For how long you have both linux and windows in bual boot with that UTC modification on windows? AND ...where you able to confirm (what the time came) for auto-correcting your time whne clock turns back from summer time to 'regular' time in your zone? Did that worked as it should on both OS ? (I'm sure on linux worked becuase it use UTC by default, but I wonder how windows behaved)? Well...thats the thing. Its not linux that creates this mess. No matter what, linux always has its time correct (because it uses UTC). It's windows that can't grow up for over 20 years and 'fix the dmn thing with the clock'. So...I think my topic (no matter how boring it is) its more about windows than linux, and belongs to this thread.
Updated the 1809 Updates Overview (17763.2213.1.7): https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-17763-xxx-pc-rs5.77945/page-216#post-1490183 I've put back in the catalog links to .NDP48 Base 3106 .MSUs.
In short, you shouldn't worry too much about it, you can't blow up any of the systems on either side, no matter what warning OS throws at you or what option you choose. General rule is that you should set hardware clock to UTC when booting multiple OSes, to avoid scenarios where both OSes will try to offset daylight savings(if your region even have one), where localtime can set time incorrectly (2nd OS will offset time on 1st OS offset). UTC is foolproof in that regard. As for the OS support, both latest Windows and Linux will handle either scenario without issues.
hi, so I had a version of ltsc 1809 activated via a legit code bought from a reseller site. I had my microsoft account logged in and I decided to do a clean install from usb stick. After this the licence is gone, I know that for pro&home it is tied with the microsoft account. Is there any way I could activate again using same key, that would save 15 bucks?
To create LTSC up-to-date ISO, is .1 or .316 (refresh) version recommended? Also are any other updates required apart from those in the 1809 overview? EDIT: Windows10.0-KB4589208-v2-x64_PSFX_IMC.cab, where to find this update as it isn't available in Updates section.
The overview list all updates needed for an uptodate 17763.xxxx ISO, best to start with a 17763.1 ISO, Is intel microcode update.
Fun historical fact: daylight saving was introduced by the Germans in WW2. Every once in a while there is an effort to get rid of it but it how do you change something that's been around for so long?
Hey guys, I'm new here but I'm also confused about something. Why do people download a consumer edition and use SVF to patch it to get the ltsc iso ?? Why not just download the ltsc iso directly ??
Can someone paste a list of services that should be disabled with small comment 'why' right next to it? I manually disabled (among few others): Background Intelligent Transfer Service Windows Update ^ and both keep resetting, on maual, trigger-start, or they are already 'triggered' and 'running'. Why the f* they don't respect what I already decided, and how to stop them from starting up? If its important I'm running LTSC 2019 17763.316 When command prompt is started it sais: [Version 10.0.17763.2183]
Well that may prove difficult, because each user has his or her own preferences depending on PC usage
yep really, for make big changes user need acess gpedit.msc and make your desired changes except versions home (although have one workaround for this version too)...
