I'm not talking about Windows. I'm talking about if you have your programs, documents, whatever on your computer, clean installs are a pain.
Maybe I worded my question badly, sorry. I tried to ask: is there any real difference disabling these things (search, xbox) in the iso with that tool, as opposed to just turning those windows and xbox services off in the windows service settings?
Maybe I should've been more specific with my question, has LTSC 2019 been pulled back as well as the other Windows 1809 versions, which might end up in the creation of new/updated iso's?
It has the same bug LTSC I have noticed after upgrade lost my documents but I have put them back allready from a backup made before upgrading and nothing sure about what MS will do next
Everything, including the Server 2019/1809 releases has been pulled. And yes, you absolutely WILL get new media. Noone at MS will dare to distribute this ridiculous buggy junk again.
How would i go about installing the game bar in LTSC 2019? i installed the microsoft store and xbox app, the bar is enabled in the "gaming" section of the settings app, but when i press Win + G i get "You'll need a new app to open this ms-gamingoverlay" Spoiler: My Appx Package List 1527c705-839a-4832-9118-54d4Bd6a0c89 c5e2524a-ea46-4f67-841f-6a9465d9d515 E2A4F912-2574-4A75-9BB0-0D023378592B F46D4000-FD22-4DB4-AC8E-4E1DDDE828FE InputApp Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin Microsoft.AccountsControl Microsoft.AsyncTextService Microsoft.BioEnrollment Microsoft.CredDialogHost Microsoft.ECApp Microsoft.LockApp Microsoft.MicrosoftEdgeDevToolsClient Microsoft.Win32WebViewHost Microsoft.Windows.Apprep.ChxApp Microsoft.Windows.AssignedAccessLockApp Microsoft.Windows.CapturePicker Microsoft.Windows.CloudExperienceHost Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager Microsoft.Windows.Cortana Microsoft.Windows.NarratorQuickStart Microsoft.Windows.OOBENetworkCaptivePortal Microsoft.Windows.OOBENetworkConnectionFlow Microsoft.Windows.ParentalControls Microsoft.Windows.PeopleExperienceHost Microsoft.Windows.PinningConfirmationDialog Microsoft.Windows.SecHealthUI Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost Microsoft.Windows.XGpuEjectDialog Microsoft.XboxGameCallableUI Windows.CBSPreview windows.immersivecontrolpanel Windows.PrintDialog Microsoft.EdgeDevtoolsPlugin Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1.6 Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1.6 Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1.7 Microsoft.NET.Native.Framework.1.7 Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.6 Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.6 Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.7 Microsoft.NET.Native.Runtime.1.7 Microsoft.DesktopAppInstaller Microsoft.StorePurchaseApp Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00 Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00 Microsoft.WindowsStore Microsoft.XboxApp
OK I'll talk about the footprint of a vanilla Windows 10 LTSC 2019 + Office 2019 ProPlus (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access) installation. The total size after installation is completed is only 10.4 GB on my 128GB Toshiba SSD! WTF? Is this even possible? In the past, Windows 10 alone took more than 12GB of space on the same computer.
For any one running an Asus Crosshair VII Hereo (WiFi), disabling fastboot in UEFI has rid me of my computer not waking from sleep. (Not sure if bug is MOBO or Windows related, however it persists across UEFI 0804 and 1001 for me) However, 30 second hang before logon still persists with GTX 1080 Ti, when any Nvidia driver is installed. But hey, at least I can put my PC to sleep now.
For what i've been reading, we're still missing the appx "Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay" but i'm still figuring out were to get it from, i suppose it's hidden in the microsoft store, or maybe we need it from another Windows 10 SKU, if anyone could help with this i would be grateful.
All I did was install the store for LTSC, then pressed Win + G and associated with the Store - downloaded the suggested game bar app from Store and now Win + G works fine.
Thank you very much, you're right, the "Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay" package is on the store under the name "game bar" After a restart, the game bar now works, i will now see if it still works after uninstalling the xbox app, because i really don't need that one if the gamebar is standalone. Edit: It works without the Xbox App
It seems that LTSC 2019 activates from legal real KMS running on Server 2016 (I expected Server needing an update for this, but not so)
Definitely did not get any of these symptoms, if you did upgrade you might have something that does not play nice with new version & itself needs to be updated. Too many variables to even try to guess
Thanks, seems like I wasn't as incorrect as people stated earlier and my hunch were right all along. The rant continues Stop releasing buggy releases, people spend valuable free time on upgrading and updating their systems and then it's infested with bugs, the releases get's pulled and all have been for nothing.
Couldn't notice any weird behaviour after upgrade from 2016 to 2019 on my notebook (C2D T6400/4GB/SSD).
