You realize that the whole description of LTSB or LTSC as far hospitals and whatever else stated is just a generic statement. What it means is that LTSB is... well... exactly what it is - Long Term branch that is FOCUSED on stability and security rather than addition of new features. It does not mean that new features don't get added at all. LTSB had plenty of things I removed with MSMG Toolkit. I am quite saddened by the state of 1809 LTSC. It should not be released unless major bugs are squashed, but that's just major and obvious bugs that can be easily reproduced. OS code is filled with a ton of under-the-hood bugs, and I bet there is a strong positice correlation between the number of easily spotted bugs and the number of those under-the-hood. In other words, if easily-detectable bugs such as Task Manager CPU usage are present, then I bet the number of under-the-hood bugs that cannot be easily spotted by average users, is exceedingly high.
the whole Windows 10 concept is now designed to the lowest common denominator level of a very basic user, in fact it can be construed that M$ thinks we're all morons. I'm disappointed that in 2018 we're using "kindergarten" software for operating systems and "amputated" technology all in the name of profits. In my opinion Windows 10 should have 3 levels of install Expert, Normal, Basic. each level can be customized as what the user wants installed with pre-configuration choices. in Expert mode for power users there is full control without restrictions. anyway LTSB 2016 still shines once all the usual suspects are removed. LTSC 2019 is more locked down with permission crap, so more heavy handed approach needed.
yep I agree 100% thanks God I found a user who has common sense and enough intelligence to "see" what is happening with Windows since the compilation 1803 simply you have made me win my day, congratulations for your great reasoning and lucidity
Public TB? MCT? UA? MVS? I only know what ESD's are... Were you trying to say that there will not be any more RTM for LTSC?
I did a clean install and I'm currently on build 17763.55. The only issues so far that I have, are only related to GameBar and the registry tweak to make old Photo Viewer default again. The GameBar never works on first launch, it will always give me the window to select the program or search it on store, however it is already installed. It will launch normally on second try... Paint is always reset to be default for opening pictures after every reboot
Well yea every third party image viewing program is probably better then "poor" Photo Viewer. However I don't need anything more then what Photo Viewer provides. I just need simply and quick image viewer and Photo Viewer does that just fine, and I don't have to install anything else.
Apply .reg file from attachment, set Windows Photo Viewer as default again and reboot Windows, should work.
keep it simple , to open any image with Windows Photo Viewer right click on image and choose the app "Windows Photo Viewer" and tick "Always use this app to open .jpg files" only needs to be done once for each image type.
