Hi guys I'm currently running enterprise LTSB 2016 I downloaded enterprise LTSB 2019 to test on vmware workstation. 2016 shows 2016 in the system Properties, but 2019 doesn't show 2019.is that normal, or have i download the wrong iso?. Winver shows 1803.
I accept your criticism, as you obviously have a lot more experience, and also understand that the script has been made available as-is. Likewise, I understand that it may work for English, yet multi language is another thing. As for my "meddling" with variables, the script itself finished without errors and after deploying there are no issues (except for IE, but that's something on my side). There has been no meddling other than what I've posted. The proposed corrections have been made to the firstlogon.cmd powershell syntax, as the original syntax errored out while testing. That doesn't mean it's correct, I still have a lot to learn. Will test it again anyway, when you update it and post a screencap if it errors out. I don't expect to be spoonfed, but some directions from time to time will help a lot. That's why I post feedback, hoping you or others can give me some pointers that allow me/us to solve issues. This will ultimately benefit the community. Cheers.
BTW, I though that starting with build 1703 or 1709, the "defaultuser0" bug was no longer an issue, yet this 1809 LTSC most definitely had that user profile until I massacred it with one of abbodacean BAT pets.
@GodHand: I've tested the corrected syntax. It's much better without the backticks. When testing your new setupcomplete.cmd, I get still two errors. This is the output when setupcomplete runs: Code: At line:1 char:138 + ... imization' } | Remove-NetFirewallRule -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue } + ~ Unexpected token '}' in expression or statement. + CategoryInfo : ParserError: (:) [], ParentContainsErrorRecordException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : UnexpectedToken At line:1 char:164 + ... Service*' } | Remove-NetFirewallRule -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue } + ~ Unexpected token '}' in expression or statement. + CategoryInfo : ParserError: (:) [], ParentContainsErrorRecordException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : UnexpectedToken Those two lines are 2734 and 2735 in the script. If I remove the last } from both lines, setupcomplete runs without errors. Cheers.
