Is it hard to use the abbodi scipt for someone who never used power shell or played with the registery? Also by trying to install-run the script, is there a risk of sudden pc not wanting to work as usual or dysfonctions? Thanks
My humble apologies for such a foolish question because I'm not very tech literate, but will there be an automated command prompt tool for these ESU patches eventually much like the Windows 7 ones that came out a few years ago. I have tried using Windows 11 and find it to be a shell of what Windows 10 is, even now several years since it's come out. Thank you. Edit: Reread everything very carefully and saw the link to Abodi's script. Thank you very much, Abodi and everyone else!
Hello. Sorry, I still don't understand what's going on. Will this script from @abbodi1406 make my system receive updates until October 2026 even without logging in with an MS account on my system? Or maybe some other script will do the same? Currently, my Windows 10 Pro 22h2 with the latest updates doesn't show me the option to get these extended updates. However, I've never logged in with an MS account – only a local administrator account. I'm in the EU, so I don't think I need to use the backup option. I'd like to avoid logging in with an MS account (I'd have to create one first anyway).
Officially, you need to keep logging in with an MS account to continuously receiving updates until Oct '26. Using @abbodi1406 script can achieve the same with a local account. However, ESU from MAS is even better, it provides updates for 3 years, until 2028.
Officially, only EEA free enrollment option need to keep logging in with an MS account i think even that might be possible to avoid if you disabled all Consumer ESU scheduled tasks
Enterprise and Education SKUs are eligible for full 3 extra years of ESUs from Microsoft. One can get those 3 full years for free by using MAS. Is this safe? Does it modify system files? And more importantly, is there a risk of Microsoft blocking it?
It's only adding licenses. Nope. There is always a certain risk. But it would be very hard for them to do so without affecting true customers as they would have to go to great lengths to tell them apart.
Any way to tell if ESU updates will come in - on activated Win10 Enterprise GVLK ... From what I'm gathering here, if a host is on a VLK channel ESUs should just come in - lmk if thats the right assumption. I've been using KMS_VL_ALL to keep Enterprise Activation going thus far. Only if you pay. @abbodi1406 has written a script that can supposedly bypass the account requirement.
