I have also the same message on update page, even i have activated esu with tsforge. Your version of Windows has reached the end of support. Your device is no longer recieving security updates. What happens?
1. Have you rebooted your computer? 2. Are you using an edition other than Home? I think Home only accepts ConsumerESU so TSForge won't work (I might be mistaken) 3. We can't be 100% certain that it works until next Patch Tuesday, when the first ESU is actually released.
It was only a suggestion, and that it might help others find help if they having issues with activating a ESU licence.
This thread is unfortunately not informational, but a pure support request. An informational thread has its essential contents and information concentrated and collected in the first post, like the overviews @Enthousiast makes. If anyone wants to summarize the details/options concerning the ESU license topic, go ahead and make a new thread. I'll gladly pin that thread then. However, this thread unfortunately doesn't really qualify. Good suggestion nonetheless, @steven4554.
Then you can change the header of this topic, no? Or merge with an existing, more appropriate thread. Add appropriate link(s) and close this thread. Or make one Informational thread and one support thread. It worked with the windows loader... More threads is essentially what fill's this community. A thread for one question, a thread for a second question... Suggestions only
And i might add: If search function was "a (lil bit) tiny more sophisticated" i dear to say this would not be an issue. If i search a checksum: spot on If i search more randomly: you can spend time and days in continous search It's not user friendly
It's a bit tricky, the forum software doesn't allow to arbitrarily change post order, manipulate post dates, or simply insert empty posts for the overview at the start. Besides, a new thread would be better for pinning, we don't really want to pin pure discussion threads. Important: The new topic creator should be committed to maintain it, there will be new developments for sure. Not @Enthousiast, as he's busy enough as it is. Are you aware of any? Once that new thread exists, everything can be worked out. Remember that the Loader has an entire section of its own. As long as they are useful, yes. No, you cannot blame us for the sh*tty search. Btw. it's similarly sh*itty in other boards, too, has to do with not indexing short words, it would cause immense bloat of the database.
At this very moment: no. I don't blame you or you'r compadres at all. Both you and i are well versed in this community but new members: not always so much. I blame the search functionality. Period.
Technically, one could use any search engine that still indexes MDL, using the "site:forums.mydigitallife.net" restriction.
Technically you can, indexing by search engines works. But why do often members always ask again already asked and answered questions? I see that "post" boosting happens (with not so informative post) Granted. But there is also a lot of fine members, both fresh and old an non are stupid (i might add), struggling.
The thread that brought us the option to freely get three years of updates maybe? The MAS / TSForge thread. Some here (and globally) will never read or investigate anything for themselves, hell some even can't find an ISO because the OP contains to much "junk" (i guess more then 2 lines and a link to somewhere offboard). And still i will look into this anyway. Discussing options with @Windows_Addict to take over this thread.
Pinned. Merging the threads will not be possible as most posts in the other thread are older and would shift your OP down. Maybe simply leave a link to the discussion thread in the OP?
For the ESU-supported editions...if you activated Commercial ESU MAK, or you don't intend to use Consumer ESU... you can get rid of the EOS message by adding this registry value: Code: reg.exe add "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\ConsumerESU" /v ESUEligibility /t REG_DWORD /d 3 /f disable all Consumer ESU tasks, and never run ClipESUConsumer.exe Code: SCHTASKS /Change /DISABLE /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Clip\ClipESUConsumer" SCHTASKS /Change /DISABLE /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Clip\ClipESUConsumerProcessECUpdate" SCHTASKS /Change /DISABLE /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Clip\ClipESUConsumerProcessPreOrder" SCHTASKS /Change /DISABLE /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Clip\ClipESUConsumerProcessRefund" it will probably fixed in the next update because it also affect Azure and W365 ESU
Did you ask tito because it should simply be possible to merge threads, it was in the past. Else people can just continue in here.
