    cant delete the windows.old file....have full owner ship of the folder....i even re-started in safe mode and still it tells me the folder is open in another program WTF!!!:mad:

    Use Windows Disk Cleanup and select to remove old windows files.

    To be fair you never mentioned you'd tried disk cleanup. I'd boot winpe & try deleting it from there...
