Everyone 'spies' on you. Google, Apple, Microsoft and so on and so on. Remember back then when the iPhone would run out of battery but would still keep track on your location? Did anyone do something about that? Google spies on you even when you are not signed in. This 'spying' thing must end - noone cares about your internet life. It might be true that MS is collecting data from us but what about it? Really, what about it? I want to see some real arguments why it's not good. Even Windows 7 had some forms of telemetry.

 

Why even waste your time by talking with such people?! Just offer them a tin-foil hat and/or ignore their stuff.

That's the same file. It might download products.xml from the ms servers and might need some sort of MS-side update.
If that's the case, we simply need to keep an eye on this and check it periodically.
We should also keep an eye out for when they post it to their MCT page, because that's a likely indicator that they have everything set up.

Well boy, that escalated quickly. You're pretty persistent but I'd like you not to push your sense of values onto others. Sure, conversations are great but when it gets out of hand(like it happened now as you very AGGRESSIVE) you should stop for a moment and think. Think not of what MS does, but your attitude.


I'm not trying to convince my self. I've been running Windows 10 since day 1 and have read various articles/posts about this spying stuff and telemetry, but in the end I don't care if they can see if I go into pr0n sites and stuff like that. I don't care if they can see which anime I watch and what I talk about with my gf(which they can't). I use a Nexus 4, the definition of Android. My data is backed up on Google and I don't really care what Google does with that - I have ticked every option possible inside Google settings to make my life on the internet as private as possible(like the option where they can't share data on G+ etc etc)

To sum it up, it's all about what you as an end user want to do. Sure, you want to disable the spying stuff? Go ahead, but don't be aggressive and push your sense of values onto others. It's an operating system - sure it's great to have control over anything but you have taken it into a whole new level, you are obsessed!

The placebo effect is always strong. I've done a thousand upgrades from inside Windows(with the option not to back up my settings and documents) but when possible, I want to clean install from inside a DvD/USB as I want to delete that 1 hidden partition created by Windows's first install. OCD to the max.

 

I used upgrade some days and s saw its not go as upgrade. I notice instantly if something wrong overnight. its happens sometimes.

So i want that everything run perfect not somehow.

Maybe because I'm using Linux since the AD 1997 or so, and I can live very well w/o using Wine?

 

There are some new skus and things like LTSB 2016 would have different keys.
Also I think they've been posted from a previous insider build.
