QQ - I know Win8 always wanted to be associated with an active MS account - does Win10 *require* that as well? I try to cut all ties between my OS & my emails (I don't like digital paper trails, lol)

    Thanks!

Ok GREAT! Thanks so much! :)

(Setting things up for the upgrade now - going to upgrade Win7, then do a fresh install of Win10 on the new system - hoping I don't encounter any issues with Hardware IDs as the new system is 100% different than the current).

So I'll probably be back with more problems/questions, lol!

    Yep ... so everything's 100% jakked :(

Installed Win10 just fine from the CD, then it refused to connect - problem with *both* LAN & wi-fi, even when I separately updated the drivers. Thinking maybe I had a VL version of Win7 Ultimate installed. So I'm at square one. Installing from scratch on the new system, hoping the Toolkit 2.6.2 will activate things :(

You have a problem with LAN & WIFI on 10, and the solution you come up with for that, is the use of a KMS solution??

Would be pretty exotic LAN or WIFI hardware to not be supported on 10.

I ran the troubleshooter - it got nothing but a problem with the adapters, both of them. If the drivers are there, it *sees* my wi-fi connections, but it will not connect, nor will the Ethernet.

Well, KMS activation went fine :)

I'll get around to switching it over at some point I guess, but having it working is better than not ;)

Can anyone confirm that configure automatic updates via Group Policy Editor still works after the Anniversary Update?

I was going to ask how one can configure the automatic updates - I want to be notified of them, but be able to select what I install and when.

    Thanks!!!

You can be notified to download and install but not be able to select what to download or install.

Group Policy to Disable Automatic Updates still works

The Group Policy to Disable Automatic Updates still works on Professional and Enterprise LTSB 2015.It works slightly differently on both versions but it does notify to download and then to install.

Yes, but given they started to provide mainly big cumulative "service packs", rather single uptates the possibility to choose will become almost useless.

In short you have to install all or nothing whatever the WU options are...

I have to say that cumulative updates of Windows 10 are extremely huge.
Can't wait for their UUP versions.

Normally the new edition will be released when they reach the 1GB limit. Next month, rs2 and in the beginning we have new small updates again :)
