core insider say everytime, two ore 4 days before, next build is this and next is this, he is better then wzor and he is everytime right!
There is often the usual Windows sign off by Microsoft and that should be the 'corroborated' evidence. That is what it is like in a nutshell. My understanding is that Dona has evaded the question concerning the RTM in her tweets before. I don't even know if it is right for people to claim RTM is based on some sets of paraphernalia.
windows 10 is a windows is a service operating system and there is no rtm anymore, windows 10 is a 10 years construction zone xD but build 14393 is signed off for oems too install it on the new computers!
Why should we need to do that so M$ can get another cash grab just to sign the drivers? I am currently running the latest Quadro which are not signed for a GeForce card but run much better on windows 10 than the stock Geforce. Can someone confirm that this build will not accept unsigned driver anymore even if they are installed with signing off? That is a no starter for me and as we get older it appears we will need to just stay on an older OS. Spying and pettiness all for the golden cow. Hope their is an app at the store that lets us install the drivers that work best for us. Regards
yeah, i started a setup by build 10586 this progam let it normal install, now by 14393 not install and blocked!
AFAIK, they don't have to be signed by MS labs or anything, just recognized as a valid company and using proper cert.
Thanks Murph ........ Well if a enterpriseS comes out we will install in a VM and try to install NVidia with a modded inf (as well as plotter drivers). If next boot it wipes them out that will be pretty much the end of the road for me and M$ .......... 10240 to a different OS? We have 10 of thousands of dollar plotters that are no longer supporting there drivers or have dropped large format all together. Unsigned is all we have. Gonna tell you if some can not run their old hardware how quick they will be to the M$ money grab party. This company just keeps gain our respect as a business oriented company. Weather app to that. Regards
I've got a few developer friends who've had no choice but to purchase EV Certificate / SHA-256 on HSM dongle which cross-signs with Microsoft Windows signer as well for signing their kernel-mode drivers. It is pretty expensive for smaller development teams, but it is the only way going forward. Disabling Secure Boot is an option for now but not necessarily good for the long term. These new signing requirements are expected to land for Windows 7/8.x in 2017 unless this Anniversary Update becomes too much of a mess on August 2nd when it goes live. We will have to wait and see.
Do not think they can back OS implement this if you do not update. But if there is no way to install unsigned drivers in the newer OS than there will be no newer OS. I remember when they made you jump hoops starting with 8.0 ......... that to me was not playing nice. Oh they do it for your own good because you are too stupid to know how not to open yourself to all those evil virus ...... BS money grab. Regards
It depends if the modded driver gets a cert or not. If it doesn't, you likely have to boot in that debug mode (whatever it's called where you can load unsigned drivers) I've noticed other programs have this issue as well. (Internet Download Manager for example) I'm sorry, I'm not really a driver guy, so I'm not the best person to ask about the differences.
If memory serves me correctly, showing KMS keys is fine. Err, come to think of it - not sure now. Spoilered screenshots anyway.
Couldn't install the latest AMD WHQL drivers that landed today. Got the "detection driver error contact amd for assistance" message right away when starting the install, I had to boot with disable driver signature to install them. :/
I think the deal is that they changed so that certs require sha256 or something and a lot of drivers are using older non-sha256 certs.
Noticed that the group policy setting for automatic updates no longer states that the override is in place when on the updates app. I guess we'll see if the key changed when they release an update
