Considering server and enterprise 2016 LTSB are the only SKUs still supported and they will be for 5+5 years, EOS should be around 2026.
@Enthousiast: Hello there my friend, Do we have the Updates Overview post for 14393.x builds just like for other versions which you update regularly? I need that for updating Windows Server 2016, actually. Thanks,
Hi abbodi, From my research and your replies, I came across these applicable DU updates for 14393 builds, can you please check these and tell me about either new DU updates or replacing old ones? Code: Safe OS DU: KB4013419 Setup DU: KB4039556, KB4532820
I managed to make a full list of needed and applicable updates for this build, I share the list here so you have a head start. Code: for Build 14393.5066: KB5011570 - Servicing Stack KB5012596 - Cumulative Update --- KB4486129 - Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 KB5011264 - Update for .NET Framework 4.8 KB5012118 - Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 4.8 --- KB4013419 - Safe OS Dynamic Update KB4039556 - Dynamic Update KB4532820 - Dynamic Update --- defender-dism-x64.cab
Well, windows update still works fine for all windows 10 versions starting with 1507. End-Of-Support does not equal End-Of-Life. Atm, 20H2 is pushed aggressively, but if it were to stop feature upgrades by some method, then the latest LCU for the edition (Home, Pro / Edu, Ent) will install just fine and stop nagging. Defender updates just fine even if the OS itself is outdated, but it's a sane idea to integrate it into the media like @nima1024 advised. I would go with a 3rd-party AV tho for any of these old windows 10 versions (pre 1903) where Defender lacks Tamper Protection.
