10586.0, date i don't know but the insiders got exactly the same build as the MSDN/retail/vlsc iso's 2 weeks before MSDN was released.
Wait.. can't I simply join insider program and opt-out receiving insider updates? Or isnt it that easy.
The message doesn't mean anything, msft just tries you to join the insider program. Afaik opting out can't be done without re-installing, when you use an insider iso it will show the message again. So reinstall with a MSDN non insider iso and you won't get the message. Maybe there are other workarounds.
Make yourself a batch file with this content: This will disable telemetry. If you have telemetry disabled, you can't join the insider program and it should stop bugging you about it.
Has anyone downloaded the Zero Day Patch (ZDP) from Wzor and installed it after installing build 14393??? I know it's supposed to show up in Windows Update on Aug. 2 after the Anniversary Update is installed.
If it is just a message, but I won't receive insider updates, it is fine, I can live with that. This message appeared when I clicked in the "Windows Insider Program" before that, the message wasn't there, so it tried to opt me in into the insider program. If I have a working build which will the normal updates, I dont care about the message. Already disabled all the telemetry stuff, MSMG toolkit + W10privacy + anti-beacon, but as I said, if its just a message, I dont mind.
If I upgrade from build 10586 that's not part of the insider program to 14393 insider preview will I get a insider message or stay the same out of the insider program and still be activated with a digital entitlement. Has anyone done this with a esd file converted to a ISO file yet!
Odd, disabling telemetry usually makes that go away. But it shouldn't have any further impact on your experience.
Pretty much. I imagine the only functional difference between this and the ISO files delivered to the public will be a couple of registry keys identifying it as an insider build. Thankfully, because it's also an RTM escrow build it will be functionally exactly the same as the original product, in fact when I first installed 10586 I used an insider ESD and it was perfectly fine. It's nothing to worry about, they're just keen on trying to get people into the insider program.
Eh? that wasn't what I said at all, not even remotely. What I meant was that disabling telemetry normally makes the attempts to bug you into joining the insider program go away.
If you can work out exactly how they identify it as an insider build I guess so. I've personally got no idea, so I couldn't say for certain but honestly, I don't imagine it would make a shred of difference to the overall functionality of the product, all it will really do is make those messages disappear.
