Does anyone know any working scrips to add in 'SetupComplete.cmd' under 'Win ISO\sources\$oem$\$$\Setup\Scripts' that make the power plans like high performance & power saver for laptop/notebook systems like earlier Windows installation (pre-1709 probably)?
I have had ESENT warnings/errors for the last 8+ months. I think that it has been figured out need more time to be sure. 1) ESENT system warning event id 642 Catalog Database - Jet_efvAllowHigherPersistedFormat. 2) ESENT system error event 10000 Unable to start a DCOM server: the error: "2147942767". Caused by Jet_efvAllowHigherPersistedFormat. Other than that my machine never has a issue. I will create issues with older hardware and drivers. ie. a 5 1/2" floppy drive from the mid 70's or the original DOS/and Norton System Works from before the sell out.
Some had all user files deleted when 1809 (17763.1) was first released to the insiders, that i would call a problem
That is automatically backed up. I always back up ever since Windows 1. That by the way I still have working on floppy disk. those were the days working with true DOS. I learned something when I was at USC taking computer programing in 1980. My father was working government sub contracting in the 70's.
Yes, you did backup, when someones asks if it's safe to run IP builds, that's the official MSFT advise together with the big warning
It's always safe to run IP builds you just need to cover your ass and info. I use a WD Easy store ext. USB 3.1 8 TB. Lots of space I just go through it once a month cleaning out the clutter. Hay SAM-R I have all my original packaging for everything that I have gotten since 1970. My wife says that I'm just a pack rat.
Tried this build on two VM's (latest vmware player) in different systems with differing results both over a 1909 installation. One is fine, while on the other (old haswell laptop) I get frequent BSODs on boot (system thread exception not handled), and once even during the upgrade reboots. I've even tried a fresh install, but the same will happen. On both systems an 8kb DumpStack.log.tmp is present on the root of C:, modified at every boot, this seems new (not present in 1909).
that's MS decision for god knows whatever reason, they've deferred those two plans not to be present there while installing Win10 in a notebook/laptop, In desktop, though all are fine. Currently, I am working on modding a script & putting that together with win ISO so that every time I install Win10 in any notebook, I don't have to create those plans manually.
Emoji input using " Win + . " does NOT work anywhere except for File Explorer in the Search field ONLY. Doesn't work on Discord, on Edge Canary, or even Control Panel's search box(which doesn't even display "Search Control Panel"). Overall it's a great build and it only has these annoying bugs. Could see it being the RTM(coz Microsoft) and fixing the problems via WU. But I really miss the WIN+ .
I remember in the early 90s the main use I had for Windows was to multitask Dos programs and (shock!) do 2 things at once.
When you minimize a video it does not appear the video running in the taskbar the image is static, anyone else has this problem?
@Mioni I was already getting that behavior on 1909, the preview thumb will only show the video playing while not minimized.
