my advise use DDU before you install the "ultimate" driver it might works for you or anybody else out here
The WDDM 2.7 driver appear to be much less stable for Turing (current generation) cards than older ones (probably because most preview DX12-U features are Turing-only, so that codepath has the most amount and least tested changes).
I have RTX 2070 so the newest gen for now but I don't play DX12 games much so maybe that explains no crashes here
Since I did an in-place upgrade install disk cleanup states Windows Update Cleanup files are 1.74/1.75 GB in size no matter how many times I click to delete them. Are the files being deleted and it's a disk cleanup bug?
That's what I did and it didn't work. Where are those files? I already deleted the Software Distribution and LCU folders content and I still have this 1.75 GB Windows Update Cleanup files appearing on disk cleanup. EDIT: After installing the latest CU I was able to remove them with disk cleanup although it was taking a lot of time so I closed it. I tried to open it afterwards but nothing happened. After restarting Windows I was able to open disk cleanup and it showed no Windows Update Cleanup files.
Is there a difference doing it this way? I can imagine creating the ISO and USB stick is a lot faster, but are there any other benefits?
No old leftovers from the previously integrated updates, probably a smaller install.wim, W10UI can handle a previously updated ISO but i always use clean source wim files for my projects.
That's what I did to fix a CU problem and although it fixed it now I have this issue. Of course I won't to another one, especially because of this.
