Which is the latest 20H2 build that can be used for a daily usage device? It is not a surface one, just a general laptop. Isn't .508 the RTM? .508 is affected by the WSL2 bug, so I could use UUPDump and generate an updated iso with .541 build (which fixes the bug). .508 supposed RTM (?) .538 Surface only update .541 updated RTM with WSL2 fix .545 ? .546 ?

So I can use the .541 straight now and be sure to be on the "normal" channel? I mean no preview stuff
Installing 546 would be better, it's a catalog preview not an insider preview and even with insider preview updates you wont be enrolled in the insider program.
Original Win10_2004_English_x64.iso windows10.0-kb4577266-x64.msu windows10.0-kb4577063-x64.msu windows10.0-kb4576945-x64.msu windows10.0-kb4562830-x64.cab windows10.0-kb4561600-x64.msu NLite makes 19042.546 Windows feels so bogged sluggish downloading 19042.546 from uup dump seems better that is just my opinion and BTW no matter which way you go you have 19042.xxx on Oct 13
The thing with the technics of windows servicing is that opinions don't matter, both ntlite and the uup>iso converter (=a little bit modified W10UI) can only use the same method of updates integration, dism /add-package, the only way it works. The only difference is that uup>iso knows how to handle the du for setup.
Yes, sometimes referred to as optional and sometimes referred to as preview (or both). I'm seeing that it has been easy for me to be an "update junkie" in this thread. I think it would have been better for me to have ignored some updates like 538 and 541. But nobody wants to be left behind, right? So we just install the latest build because it may fix something and improve stability. But I'm having to review that policy in myself. So for those of us that need a list of official releases, here it is:
I had never seen anything written about it. I didn't know that differentiation (catalog preview vs insider preview). Thanks for the info!
I always use the latest NTL build to custom latest Win10 ISOs & hardly had any issue adding MSFT updates (CU SSU etc) in NTL You got it right. NTL usually don't support newer Win versions in old NTL. So to avoid such issue due to the incompatibility in the latest versions of Windows, you must always try/use the latest NTL build. NTL has a dedicated user forum. MDL is not the right place for asking any Q related NTL. For any NTL related issues & queries, you should use that NTL forum.
