Why would MSFT put the older 19042 v10.0.1.2 Enablement Package (EP) on the March and April MSFT Visual Studio (MVS) isos? An examination of the install.wim packages for the March and April MVS isos reveals that both of these isos have the the 19042 v10.0.1.2 Enablement Package (EP), instead of the more recent 19042 v10.0.1.3 EP. The 19042 v10.0.1.2 EP was developed on 08/05/2020 The 19042 v10.0.1.3 EP was developed on 11/20/2020 This is the name of the package as listed in the install.wim: Package_for_KB4562830~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.1.2
Maybe because Edge Chromium now is installed by the LCU, afaik that was the only reason they updated the EP, for newer Edge Chromium installer?
It may be the junior who does the sysprepping and does not understand the fine print? Didn't we have a half-broken release of Windows 7 not so long ago which was worse than the original release?
So with the newer LCUs, the later v10.0.1.3 EP isn't needed. That's interesting. When I installed the March MVS iso, Windows Update automatically updated the EP to v10.0.1.3. I didn't manually install the v10.0.1.3 update. I don't use Edge Chrome anyway, so I didn't pay attention to what happened with that.
Afaik, MSFT never gave a reason for updating the 20H2 EP, we only noticed a newer Edge Chromium installer inside. Back then we also noticed that we still could integrate the first one into a 19041.1 ISO and all worked fine.
You already know I'm not a big fan of EPs. I just feel like EPs are a way for MSFT to mess with features. Masking and unmasking features like playing peekaboo with Windows 10 users. That's just my opinion.
They just found a way to release (fake) new builds the easy way, enabling some features and bumping up the buildnr, most people don't mind not having to go thru a full upgrade for a few new, mostly useless, features.
Hello. Can someone help me giving some tutorial or direct help here to integrate Office 2019 to Windows 10 installation (iso)? What do I need exactly? I want it to install office just in every clean install of windows. I mean, like dropping the Office cab files into sources folder or whatever. I think editing the wim file would have so much work really. Any help is appreciated.
19043.928 is only available on the release preview channel, right? It isn't production-release ready, yes?
@Enthousiast since I can't visit your profile to PM you (as you've set the limit who can visit your profile) so asking here, which software/app do you use to capture your screen that you post here occasionally?
IP = Insider Preview Not production ready, but very close, similar at this stage to what used to be named RC = Release Candidate
A beginner Question regarding screentogif : how to show that total time & time remaining on upper middle of captured gif . mean to ask which setting allowed that or theres a tweak for that.
After capturing you can go to "image" and select "progress" and at the right you can select color and placement etc..etc...
