anyone getting this glitch where they would disable Windows Defender from Group Policy then go back to that rule and it is set back to Not configured and Windows Defender reenables itself?
It is not a glitch, turn off Tamper Protection in the Defender App, and then you can disable it through Registry or Group Policy.
I downloaded Win10_21H1_English_x64.iso whose MDL Techbench dump's link is listed by @Enthousiast In a post by @microtechton there is a file called en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_540c0dd4.iso. Question: Is Win10_21H1_English_x64.iso identical to en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_540c0dd4.iso ?
Am I right to say that Win10_21H1_English_x64.iso is named by the folks at MDL Techbench whereas en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_540c0dd4.iso is the official name used by Microsoft?
The Techbench ISO is a generic verifiable MSFT ISO that you can get from an MSFT server. I believe that the other ISO you have listed there is the Microsoft Visual Studio (MVS) ISO. I don't know what the differences between Techbench and MVS ISOs are, other than MVS provides a new updated ISO every month with a subscription to MVS. Rumour has it that the MVS ISO is a higher quality ISO because it is from an expensive "for pay" subscription. But I think there is very little difference between the Techbench and MVS ISOs.
The MVS Consumer ISOs of the same build as the Techbench ISOs are 100% identical. On Techbench MSFT only offers Consumer ISOs except for IP builds, there they offer enterpriseVL = Business ISOs too. Techbench ISOs are available for private customers and the MVS ISOs are available for business customers.
is it advisable to install the optional drivers or rather the drivers from the manufacturer? my system cannot find all drivers
Just downloaded en_windows_10_business_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_ec5a76c1.iso from MVS reposory and size is 5.30 GB, not 5.69 GB as listed Same SHA-1: bde4dba4b702a17880f5e17935b3caa212fd2c0a
I noticed SHA-1 from en_windows_10_business_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_ec5a76c1.iso is identical to Windows10_InsiderPreview_EnterpriseVL_x64_en-us_19043_928.iso
If that's the case, I would like to rename Win10_21H1_English_x64.iso to en_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_21h1_x64_dvd_540c0dd4.iso due to the fact that monthly MVS ISOs follow the latter's naming convention.
