Yes, MSFT has its dynamics. Sometimes they change things without announcing them in advance. Other times, they say they are going to change things and theres no immediate change...like with packaging SSUs with LCUs. You are smart, you know how it is...
Effing Microsoft Account POS. I had lost activation after a clean install using a USB pen drive created by MCT. In trying to fix that, I had logged in using a Microsoft account. That didn't help at all, so I changed back to a local account, but that damned Microsoft account is everywhere. I removed it from multiple places, but Microsoft Store is still giving me trouble. Getting error 0x803FB005 for one particular app - everything else is running fine. Don't know what else the Microsoft account has messed up. I think I'd better do a clean install and start from scratch.
I am NOT a happy camper. I did a clean install, this time NOT using a Microsoft account at all, and lo, Microsoft Store remembers all the apps I had installed previously. That error I was getting ... still getting the same error for that same app.
hmm same here, But I used M $ ft store only once in W8 times nowadays all my ISO's has nothing relative to UWP applications that I never liked
The control panels that used to get installed for hardware are now being delivered automatically via Microsoft Store. Intel Graphics Command Center, NVIDIA control panel, Realtek Audio Control, Sound Blaster Connect, etc. are being served through the store. I would have uninstalled it completely if not for this.
the store is not needed for that, as all those UWP control panels are also installed on LTSC automatically and LTSC doesn't have the store. -andy-
yes by this and other issues is that most of the time I've always used LTSB / LTSC versions without problems...
The latest non insider would be 19043.1237: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-10-svf-repository.63324/page-239#post-1690832
that's for you and only you to decide. everyone should use whatever they think is right for them. -andy-
The Microsoft Store app itself is just a front-end. It's a graphical ui for regular users. While the app is not present in LTSC, the back-end of the store that does all the work is still there and it installs the control panels hosted on the store. It's your choice whether to install LTSC or not. I'd wait for the next LTSC release which should be fairly soon.
The Windows 10 19044.1237 Insider-Preview deploys the older 19044 "10.0.1.2" Enablement Package (EP). It will be interesting to see if MSFT rebuilds Windows 10 21H2 with the newer 19044 "19041.1237.1.3" EP. Or if they rebuild the final release with a new LCU (i.e. the logical choice). We'll see...
Microsoft didn't announce a date about Windows 10 21H2, so it's likely that it won't be available on 5th. Besides, Microsoft always chose B-update as RTM versions (18363.418, 19042.508 and 19043.928). 1266 is C-update. I believe that Microsoft will release a new version on 12th and later make it RTM.
