I know its not a surprise for anyone else here... but today I learned v22H2 uses the exact same kernel from 2004 (ntoskrnl.exe build 19041.2964)... Funny to think the last time Windows 10 actually got new features was in v2004... Windows 10 has been done for a very long time already.
that's why this topic has name "Windows 10 Final Build 19041>>>19045" There is one topic by "Version/Kernel"
Windows 8.1 got new features in 2019 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1549873/ what make you think updated binaries don't have new features? not to mention Windows 10 WNF hidden features
Hi friend, i need a suggestion. I want to do a clean install of my Windows laptop. On it i can't use Windows 11 (not compatible... lucky man?) Do you suggest to stay on Windows 10 Pro or switch to the 10 LTSC IoT ? Pro and Cons? Thanks very much
the new one should be available next week on MVS, but you can convert it from ESD now, it's the same thing technically
Hello. Is anyone getting error 0x800f0922 when trying to install this month's CU? My PC asks for a restart as usual but when it's at 81%, it says that updates couldn't be completed and changes are being reverted. Any ideas of what's happening? Thanks!
Same here for LTSC 2021 on (2) Dell XPS Laptops... Windows CU Updates install properly for a few months, then FAIL to install... Periodically, installation of Windows 10 LTSC 2021 “CU” Updates FAIL and it appears to be corrupted OS files / registry issues / ??? Using the M$ Windows Update troubleshooter has been a waste of time and is totally useless for CU installation issues… Using W10UI_10.2x (w/DISM) and Windows Update both FAIL to install CU’s… Either the installation FAILS immediately or after the Reboot 30%+… Windows Update successfully downloads CU’s but installation FAILS per above… IMO, if possible, what is needed is a Savvy Coder to create a script etc. that is capable of diagnosing this problem and providing a method to REPAIR the issues without performing an In-Place Upgrade or a Clean Install… Although In-Place Upgrades have remedied the CU installation issue, they have always corrupted the OS and created new issues that are not acceptable…
I think M$ dont like the way you are using there OS. remove all GPO tweaks & revert back all inbox apps plus be sure no any OS component packages are removed .
Check the CBS.log file for possible clues. I was getting error 0x800f0988 Invalid Delta Combination for this months CU on 2 different machines. I tried everything including using Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\test\mount\windows /LimitAccess from a mounted known good install.wim file in a desperate attempt to fix it (after all the other standard steps), but had to end up doing and in-place upgrade. One of the Invalid Delta Combination pointed to printing module and another a net module, but i'm not sure how to fix those individually or if they can be? I don't know why these errors popped up. Using group policies and some privacy tweak scripts, but not butchering any apps apart from removing Edge. Several other machines with the same config didn't fail, so NFI.
Well to be fair, 1904x lost, at least, two major features: Remote FX and Edge. (around .867/.868) In exchange WSL keep proving, not that the average joe cares a lot about Linux, but ironically Linux is the windows feature that improved more (since the end of 2022 even the W11 graphical features were backported)
