I check new icons only in 20H2 because they started there. In other places the icons updated after 20H2. (I know it's not really called 20H2, But I don't have other name for this new group of IP builds).
So if I install Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_x64_en-us_19041.iso I can activate it with my retail key, and it's going to be identical the final ISO released next month? Or if the final GA ISO includes the May Cumulative Update, my InsiderPreview Install updated with the May Cumulative Update would then be identical to that?
I know the release date is unknown still, but my question was hypothetical. That InsiderPreview.iso + whatever CU eventually goes with the RTM, would essentially be identical to the actual RTM iso?
99.99% it's going to be the base 19041.1 build with newest CU available at the time of RTM will be the final build.
It's the same as with 18362.1, GA was 18362.30 by SSU/CU. 19041.1 is named Insider Preview, also like 18362.1 but both weren't set to the SLOW ring, as usually is with IP builds, no expiration date nor watermark, so actually not really an insider preview release but most of the SSU/CUs released were still only available in the SLOW ring, the dotnetCU and flash update were released to all who run 19041.xxx, no SLOW ring needed for them.
I have an issues were my 20H1 installs aren't getting the latest 19041.173 from Windows Update now. One machine has 19041.84 and the other has 19041.153, but when checking for updates via Windows Update, neither show the KB4552455 (19041.173) update available. The 19041.153 test machine was able to update from 19041.84 2 weeks ago when it found that update, but now nothing newer. Any ideas?
You can also use W10UI 8.1 from the @abbodi1406 script repository. Most comfortable way to install CAB updates, especially if you have many. Edit: Typo
