Gone? Abbodi, after reboot, the Windows Updates will find that your new UI setting is being different from that of the old ESD, and hence deleting the old ESD and prompting an error. This is normal. Give it a second or third attempt, and there you should go. If NOT, there must be something wrong with your new UI setting trick.
Yeah the activation is entirely tied to the activation status of the previous build, not to the Microsoft account. I understand this about the RTM but for an Insider build is just plain stupid.
Not true. I had no OS installed on my new laptop with a new 1tb harddrive. Installed 10525 fresh and it activated. Was signed in with MS account. So you tell me.
Nope, nothing wrong with the trick, it always worked on previous builds including 10240 they changed something in 10525
Abbodi please help windows 10 build 10240 fully updated and activated reg th2_release and fast ring but could not download build 10525
I still can not get it - since 10130. Would you mind sharing your special management? I remember that I happened to get it once by 10161. Yes, once only. OK. Let me try that. No way. Removed.
I had trouble getting it as well i can't give a specific trick/scrip/setting to get it, it's just random i made 2 clean 10240 installs, VM and Machine (both activated officially).. with exactly same MS account and settings i only got it offered on VM
It can take up to 24 hours with a fresh install, to receive a new build, something on their backend (That runs on a schedule) has to see the machine and register it as applicable for the update This can happen the second you boot the new install, or hours later - if you leave the machine running 24 hours straight, it will receive the update - all being well I noticed I had more success around this exact time (4:30pm UK Time) leave it running an hour across this time
Pure speculation on my part would be that it is offered to some degree based on how often you are using your insiders account. Prior to RTM I was always on my insiders account and would get the new releases almost the minute they were released. Now I never use my insiders account and still haven't yet been offered this new build. Again, just a theory.
My Insider Preview 10240 Pro x64 would not get the 10525 update also. So I chose the "go back to previous build"(10166). After back on 10166 I immediately got the 10525 update and it installed without any problem.
Update 10240 to 10525 is possible - it takes time until you get the update though (about 12 hours in my case).
Guys, I did clean install 10240, skip enter key 3 times, Sign-in MS account and updates, I check at Settings/Activation show "Activated", Then click opt-in Insider build, choose fast lane, I didn't get update to 10525 from yesterday all day till today BAM ! I got 10525 downloading now.
