I am having memory leak issues with this build while using IRST drivers. (Tried both latest & OEM provided). Any one else using this feature? HP 7211tx
I have upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 build 10240, then upgraded again to build 10547 without backing up my license. If I run "C:\WINDOWS\system32>cscript slmgr.vbs /dli" I get: Name: Windows(R), Professional edition Description: Windows(R) Operating System, VOLUME_MAK channel Partial Product Key: ***** License Status: Licensed And when I run "Windows Toolkit 2.6 Beta 1 --> License Backup", I get: License Backup Failed! Could not find file 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\spp\store\2.0\tokens.dat'. I could probably restore my licensed Windows 10 Build 10204, but it is cumbersome, as there still some stuff not working as well as 8.1 in both Windows 10 versions. Network is always connected.
Which version of IRST are you using, make sure you are using the one appropriate for your chipset (not necessarily the latest).
For preview builds, the C:\WINDOWS\System32\spp\store\2.0\ is being changed with something like ... Let me mount and have a look. Or you can browse to C:\WINDOWS\System32\spp and you will see. Code: E:\MT\Windows\System32\spp\store_test\2.0
I found it, it is here: C:\Windows\System32\spp\store_test\2.0\tokens.dat. I saw your reply after posting.. However, I copied contents of "C:\Windows\System32\spp\store_test\2.0" into "C:\Windows\System32\spp\store\2.0". Back up is successful..
Yes, Both drivers were for same chipset (7 series). By the way, i am using poolmon to identify misbehaving drivers, Wireless drivers were also on the top of list . Removed those too now system is running fine. I am gonna try one more time to use IRST.
I am not quite sure if I understand this properly, I already knew my all my keys and the BIOS key, there are many tools that read them. Is the purpose of the backing up "tokens.dat" to be able to read the key at a later stage only?
My guess is that if your activation is HWID related there is no need for backing up your tokens.dat. As long as you do not change any hardware in your machine windows stay's activated !
The data.date and tokens.dat will normally keep activation status of each and every key. If your system had been activated with N keys, then it can usually be activated Online with any of these N keys. But as endbase suggested: The hardware changes must be tolerant.
My computer came with Windows installed (there is metallic sticker of a window), it had a bios key and offered me the updates automatically. I have started with Windows from version 1, I think it was 1985 (unusable compared to Apple at the time)..I just want to keep my knowledge refreshed.
I have used "poolmon" to check top tags by memory usage and "gtmp" and "toke" are the one. Sadly i have no idea how to find root cause now or drivers etc with that tag. :/
