[DISCUSSION] Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10547

Is there some way to get this build on my Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB? The "Get started" button is grayed out.

 

My too. May be because we are not insider program.

 

I signed up for it ages ago. Haven't used the other builds other than the first ones and the RTM though. I don't know what happened.

 

You guys on LTSB really shouldn't be using the Insider's Program lol. App updates are a large proponent of Insider Builds (Mail, Groove, etc), and you obviously don't get those on LTSB.


Post-RTM builds so far are mostly cosmetic changes (because the 10240 UI is inconsistent/incomplete), and a new memory manger, which is probably noticeable on 2-4GB machines (depending on what you use your computer for).

 

Oh, okay okay. But if there's a stable build, we can get them right?

 

And how LTSB users would even able to get insider builds in the first place?

 

ltsb's made to defer upgrades no way insider editions can do anything there, try enterprise then remove all the crap

 

ltsb not get updates of new features. So I don't think you can get new build from there.

So I don't understand why MS release this version of Windows 10. They can make Windows 10 Starter like 7 Starter.
I can't imagine Windows 10 without apps. Who resist he don't need apps, he can back to Windows 7 (It's like you bake a cake without taste).
There are several apps that are necessary :
Mail
Reader (Better than Edge)(Need to download).
Calculator
For some people here they have poor English, they need translator app.
And more...

 

this version is not made for average Joe, it is intended to be run in industry environment and big companies

 

I just managed to add en-US and changed the system language to en-US, but it would not allow to install.

Then I clean installed en-US 10547, and it worked.

Indeed there is no fallback if the US mui are missing.

The op can either try to extract the us mui from an en-US WIM.

Or just do an in place upgrade using an en-US ISO, after modding the registry value

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Nls\Language\InstallLanguage

from the british 0809 one to the american 0409

 

Workaround when there is no en-US language pack

zh-TW for example:

01. Apply en-US 10547 X:\
02. Add WindowsTH-KB2693643-xXX.cab
03. Apply zh-TW 10547 X:\
04. Set everything to en-US
05. Bcdboot X:\Windows
06. Restart to install en-US 10547
07. Check if Remote Server Administration Tools installed and worked on en-US system
08. Add zh-TW and remove en-US
09. Set everything back to zh-TW
10. Restart
11. Check if Remote Server Administration Tools worked on zh-TW system
12. Check and install Windows updates

then theres no point of installing 547 or any other insider builds as it will expire, that's crap, will better stay with 240 just probably upgrade from home to pro
