Ouch! I should have read that. I usually don't because everything so far was negligible. Thanx for posting this fine surprise from Microsoft. Why releasing a build with a such a bug? That's too... intense.
I don't think there is any work around solution yet. If this is a major issue for you you will have to revert to previous stable build.
Can't do that, I am stupid enough to do this on production PC. It hasn't seen a clean install since the first Win10 preview build. The thing is, I never had a (serious) issue with any build. This is the first time. Thanx, installing now! edit: Thanx again, well this is more than a work around, it's great!
I don''t mean to scare you away from using the latest Insider Preview and it is a suggestion though. Despite using a third-party download software to forestall the progress bar there are other issues with this build. You'll have to face them and use the feedback to report any issue to Microsoft. I am glad to see the Ultracopier is more than a help in this case.
Cause they listened to feedback and will release more often, which means things like this will happen in the Insider builds.
Yes I have, no luck.. I have upgraded this installation from 10586 using an ISO download, because it would not see the 11082 through Windows Update.. I don't use this installation much, only to run the car diagnostic software.. I now think that this problem may have been there all along but I did not notice.. Any suggestions (other than format)..??
Did you also enable the 'dependencies' at the Group Policy under 'Turn off Store Application'? If not, you should enable all of them.
I clean installed 11082 on a separate drive, installed my win7 network streaming tv program, like slingbox, same problem, not working, did sfc/scannow, clear this time, dism restorehealth complete this time. I did compatibility installs and run, and run as admin. I did compatibility and run as admin on the one network service. I rolled back my initial install to 10586 and sent feedback to insiders forum. I sent another separate feedback to MSFT. That's all I can do. Ain't gonna buy a new computer or new slingbox, for insiders. If anyone is using Slingbox and has a similar network problem, please lemme know. Thanks jmacie
There is something I am missing here, what dependencies in the Group Policies? I executed gpedit.msc -> Local Computer Policy -> User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> store -> Turn off the Store application : Enable The same setup is Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration etc... Can you give a walk through of what you mean?

Like enabling the 'Windows Automatic Updates' in the 'System section of the Group Policy. Administrative Templates -> System -> Windows Automatic Updates : Enable, etc.
No luck, I guess it is format time; it takes less time and heart ache than finding solutions/workarounds for buggy/beta software..
A better piece of software for file copy dialog is TeraCopy. I'm using that, and it doesn't have the bug that ultracopy has where you can't copy to mapped network drives .
I sorted it.. It is a bug.. I discovered it while installing a new Windows 11082 instance and testing Windows Update after each process.. I installed as a local account, then added Languages.. Then logged in my MS account.. Windows Update starting failing... The solution: 1- Log into a local account. 2- Stop Windows Update service and delete contents of SoftwareDistribution folder (a precaution) 3- Start -> Settings -> Accounts -> Choose Microsoft account -> Remove . Reboot. Now Windows Update works!!! if at all, it should be the other way round.. Weird!!!
