This build has a new service called "Windows Cyber Defense Service", does anyone know what that does?
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. It *did* increase the space allotted to icons - the number of icons I can see went from 4 to 5, but as soon as I try to unhide a 6th icon or more, the arrows are right back.
piece of crap build, takes 105 seconds to boot from cold boot, around 30 seconds more than 10240. And yes, I DO have a regular hdd, like 95% of the planet. Invasive like a carcinoid tumor, now you have ads at the lock screen, WHICH YOU CANT DISABLE IT, the lock screen, DESPITE SETTING EVERYTHING TO DO IT. If this is were w$ is heading, I wouldnt wonder the people will reject w$ even more. Remeber, most of the people dont like the idea of spyware, and now not only a spyware but an adware. Should be a law against this, Im pretty sure, but that only applies to a dude who is living with their parents but not to a, for now, big company.
Because they are ugly and distracting And because there is no reason not to be able to see them when in every other build or release we could
OK, I agree with you, "removing the arrows will not change anything performance wise." But, and it's a big BUT, did anyone already tried REACHit, is it doing what it has to do, please, really?
I saw the 'winky face' so I assume you are just being facetious and indeed I chuckled at your omega3 comment in the post above. That said, surely you don't believe that issues should only be addressed if they affect performance? Why bother to worry about usability and user interfaces at all if they don't slow your machine down. In point of fact, not having my icons in the tray where I put them so that they are available to me without having to click an extra arrow or two DOES affect *my* performance, or at least it affects my enjoyment of the user interface.
The build takes me approximately 10 seconds to cold boot from my SSD. That is the normal amount of time for every build. If there was something dramatically slowing the build boot I would see it, too, even though I have an SSD. Your problems sound local to your system, not the build, imo. I have yet to see any ads at all on my lock screen--not one. I fear that you keep forgetting these builds are beta builds, for some reason. They are going to have annoying bugs from time to time. If you are this unhappy, why be cruel to yourself? Just drop back to the current consumer build and stay there until it gets nice and tested for you by Insiders...? No sense popping an aneurysm over this...
Don't see the problem as this is a "known issue" that was published and which I read about before installing the build. Are you not reading those...or do you not believe them/understand them when you read them...?....
Every major build will have an RTM since physical DVDs will be made for them. As to when insiders see it..... a week to 10 days before the general public gets it
