For anyone not able to upgrade to this build from an .iso. With getting the Product Key prompt Add this Code: [EditionID] [Channel] Retail [VL] 0 and name he file as ei.cfg. Put the file in the sources folder on your iso and you should be able to proceed with the install. It worked for me as my computer was on 1511 Home when I had Pro entitled by Microsoft.
Win 10 has not had or used a key since July 2015. It asks for a key because you didn't first upgrade from Win 7 or Win 8.1.
A great Stable build and very fast also it works with cryengine V very well and Unreal engine 4 and all the tools i use and great for gaming
I doubt this particular build is great for gaming. Most games are slow on it, from Asphalt 8 airborne to Gods of Rome. Indeed, the major problems of this build include games.
yeee... but my game does not work: Code: Initializing OpenGL driver ...getting DC: succeeded ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 ) ...35 PFDs found ...GLW_ChoosePFD failed ...GLW_ChoosePFD( 16, 16, 0 ) ...35 PFDs found ...GLW_ChoosePFD failed ...failed to find an appropriate PIXELFORMAT ...restoring display settings ...WARNING: could not set the given mode (3) ...shutting down QGL ...unloading OpenGL DLL ----- CL_Shutdown ----- RE_Shutdown( 1 ) ----------------------- GLW_StartOpenGL() - could not load OpenGL subsystem
Whilst I am happy for you This build is anything beyond stable, I wonder how the hell this even ended up in the fast ring. If you have 2 or more monitors, fullscreen a browser, open a application in fullscreen, or open a RDP window on your secondary screen. Explorer will chrash every second. Xbox controller gives issues Had to reconfigure my hyper-v network adapters (might not be a bug, but still) There were also some other issues, I have already rolled back to 14279 at this point. I can't remember previews between 10240 and 10511 being this unstable, but ever since 1511 was finished and the redstone previews began it seems to get worse every build.
"I wonder how the hell this even ended up in the fast ring." The fast ring is a ring which contains builds with lots of bugs. If you don't like it, you can switch to the slow ring
Most of the loudest complainers are not even in the insider program. They beg for someone to post an ESD 2 minutes after it goes live on WU, complain when they don't know how to extract it, and then whine about it not being up to their personal standards when a known issue directly impacts their lives.
I understand both of you and I'm not usually complaining about bugs in previews. For instance the bug in the first or second redstone release where the file copy dialog was gone, was annoying but nothing really game breaking. So I can still understand how that ended up in the fast ring However, windows explorer continously chrashing if you fullscreen anything on a second monitor, thereby making full use of 2 or more screens completely unworkable to me seems a bit of a different story. I had it and 2 of my friends had it, but its not exactly stated in the known errors for that build either. (1 of my friends had it with one of those screenshot apps, the moment he tried to make a desktop screenshot his explorer would start chrashing and restarting continously as well) I'm just wondering how those bugs aren't being found in their internal ring before it even hits the fast ring. Its a really obvious bug and it makes using your secondary screens etc to their fullest completely impossible.
