Apparently to others it does, they rather have MS work on boot time than work on other features people might use. Even tho boot time has been faster with every windows release.
Well. My not so new PC boots in 12/15 seconds from (the bootloader to an usable desktop), the same machine boots Linux Manjaro Open-RC in 4-5 seconds. So would be interesting to know what happens on your PC with linux, a boot time with a negative number?
Yes , In a sense it would be negative boot time number. Because i would never even want to boot into Linux in the first place.
Oh, sorry. MS fanboys should be clearly identified with a label under the avatar, to avoid misunderstandings
And the discussion devolves..... I'm not the one who bought linux into this discussion, in a win10 topic to take a jab at someone. Than when you get jab back. HIS A FANBOY!!! LMAO!
There is a section of linux, if you want to talk bad about Windows that would be the place but your thread will probably be deleted or go over to phoronix... there is nothing spectacular about linux in the first place other then browsing the internet or changing your desktop environment ...
Another label missed. Kids 1st I was just joking, maybe the smiley were too cryptic for you, but they are there for a reason. 2nd I'm fanboy of nothing, I use anything will solve my problems, and anything I find useful and/ or funny to use, from the DOS to Solaris 3rd you should really realize that there is a world outhere, being upset even If a real Linux fanboy write some critics about your bloved toy, is just stupid. Take it easy and live happy.
Never said you where a fanboy of anything.... Upset? lmao, I didn't bring linux\fanboys\etc into a discussion about MS deciding to work on new features that some people would use, instead working on windows boot time. Either way, this has gone way off topic.
Well, I made a clean install of 14328 for my computer ... it feels fast and good as well as I can see some improvements, like Ink Workspace and honestly, I like it - I have used before FS Capture and PhotoFiltre for the similar purposes (since XP, I think). Snipping tool was just like an half baked option By the way, 14328 is nice for cp too, with music player on lock screen and additional settings, like speaker on/off when using bluetooth - that's nice for me, to hear a ring even I forgot my bluetooth ear speaker on a table or somewhere. Keyboard is a floating and sizeable (for 1 hand use, with bigger displays, like Lumia 1520) now ... Nice to see some improvements finally
That's OK. But you can see your boot duration in ms , including the total time of your boot , post boot processes included, (means the services/processes loaded after you are in the desktop) in Event Viewer. One of my ancient test rigs (almost 119 sec.):
ancient, no, regular hdd, I bet ya. Windows 10 is a WAY, WAY SLOWER than 8 booting up, even with the "fast" boot enbled. The one who say its faster its because they are on SSD. In fact, every new build boot slower than the previous. They are assuming the people are moving to sdd, WRONG, again WRONG.
Everyone should be on SSD by now, prices are affordable now, and is one of the single biggest performance boosts you can give your machine, coming from a mechanical HDD
Maybe not "way way slower". But win 8.0 is surely the fastest booting windows, which is understandable being the one with less things to show.
