I downloaded an esd of this build and did a clean install in vmware. but the install wont activate. is it required to have a activated build installed first?
You won't activate in VMWare. Activation is tied to hardware. You will need to activate this by some other means. If you are running an activated copy of Windows 10, and want a test copy to activate automatically you will need to install on a vhd native to your hard drive. You can create one in Disk Manager, and either install directly with DISM, or by booting with a DVD or USB drive, pressing Shift/F5, and attaching your vhd, then installing. You can set boot menu with EasyBCD.
That's possible only the public folders shared in your network / homegroup. You can easily share every folder you want in your local network / home-group. To access the folder you have to use the login credentials of the sharing profile / computer, as long you don't set it up differently.
Strange, I have never had a problem with activation on my VM windows 10 insider builds, I have not done a fresh install in some time though, so unless something has changed.
I have the license, of course, but I tried KMSAuto Net v1.4.2 by Ratiborus in one of my test machines and it worked!
You can activate by HWID a virtual machine exactly like a real one. What's different is that #1 the HWID is not the same as the bare metal #2 the HWID is not as stable as the real one, can change recreating a new virtual machine with the same virtual disk updating the visualization SW, and so on. In short is not as practical solution. Isn't still pretty clear what will happen with Server 2016, but Win Server 2012r2 is still activable w/o any online contact, like Win7 (and unlike Win 8.x/win10) using a virtual boot floppy or CD, that emulates the bios signature of a real definite HW making this way the most practical one for VMs (you can even move the VDdisk from VMware to Vbox or Hyper-V, retaining the activation.
I created a new VM in VMWare to test the GenuineTicket activation method with the latest Feb TH2 ISO, checked activation status before adding the ticket, and it was already activated I entered no key during install, but the host has a digital entitlement, so what happened? It used the hosts HWID or ?
I've just tried this build and it fails to display win32 apps in any search from the taskbar as the previous version does. Anyone managed to fix this?
