I have converted "14366.0.160610-1700.rs1_release_CLIENTPRO_RET_x64fre_en-us.esd" to ISO using Abbodi1406's "esd-decrypter-wimlib-18/19" and "Dism++ 10.1.5.9C" and I got different sizes: 3,143,262,208 and 3,244,752,896 respectively!!
When I copy and paste the code for a temporary download link for an ESD, I get a page full of code instead of the save dialogue at the bottom of my browser. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for clearing that up I've created a new iso using wimlib19 converter and selected the install.esd (LZMS) option (ISO = 2.83 GB (3,049,914,368 bytes)), this iso is smaller than the iso created with dism++ with LZMS compression (ISO = 2.93 GB (3,151,429,632 bytes)).
As krakatoa explained dism++ uses the recovery compression (normally used to create esd instead of wim) rate on the install.wim. Using wimlib 19 converter with install.esd option will result in a slightly smaller iso.
I have just realised that in Dism++ --> Options --> More Setting, the compression is set to Xpress4k*, it can be set to LZX. the tool seems to create install.wim by default, While it has an ESD <-> WIM converter, I could not find a setting to creating an install.esd by default!
I only found install.esd selection in the win<>esd converter section. Converting the downloaded esd to iso with LZX selected resulted in an iso with the same size as the one with the express4k option, i don't think it's for esd>iso converting options? @kuroda, daz is buisy tweaking the forum to perform better, see the chat
