I'm thinking that Tomorrow I'm just going to have to do Fresh Installs both in the VM on My laptop and on bare metal on the old HP desktop I use for torrenting and testing. I thought mistakenly that M$ had finally got all the Bugs worked out on upgrades, but it doesn't look that way IMO
Why do all that now when we're not far off from Anniverary Edition? You sure it's not your fine equipment
Bat.2 is the only one that's running Win 10 as his daily driver. I've got HDDs or partitions on all the other PCs set up with 10586 that I just update once a Month for the most part. So far I still prefer Win 8.1 over Win 10 for My uses. I'll make a decision After the Anniversary Edition on if I'll upgrade or not. Wifey's Rig is closing in on 6 Years old so I don't see any reason not to stay with Win 7 on it until it dies. When I was testing torrents for Malware I'd do most of the work in a Win 10 VM inside a Win 10 Host on My FX, but I'm not doing that anymore so I really don't spend as much time as I should playing with it. So I guess I could be called a Fence Sitter
Anybody know if there's a way to switch to insider store? Using this build I'm only getting access to non insider app on my win10 pro.
I think he's just trying to be mean to me cause I won't go Gator hunting with him Yo Bat.1, Gator got yer tongue 20 desktops, BS, hehe You don't have enough room in your house on wheels for 20 PC's, lol
If You have a Win 7 Ult or Pro PC Just run the gatherosstate and put it on a USB. Put in a Win 10 Pro OS from a different PC follow the instructions and The 1st PC has a DE. You can go back to running Win 7 until You're ready to do a Fresh Install. Go to another PC and repeat. The gatherosstate stuff was removed from the Win 10 drive after it got the DE.
Afaik, you have to generate a genuineticket on all unique machines seperatly to use it on them, and you have to do it before the "free upgrade to 10 periode" ends (and no-one can predict what happens after it when you use the pre-generated tickets after the periode).
That's what I did on a few PCs for other people. Just got the Free Upgrade, but waiting to install Win 10 until later. Said I was Lazy. Really the only problem I had reusing the same Win 10 drive repeatedly was the Catalyst Control Center driving Me nuts when I put the drive on a PC that didn't need it. Mostly the reason a lot of people here don't want to upgrade yet is because they don't have the bandwidth to do the Anniversary Upgrade.
So, you generated a genuineticket once on your own system and used it on other systems? Can you explain some more what you exactly did? This what i make of it: Did you use the disk with windows 10 already on it to apply the generated genuineticket.xml and let it register on the MSFT servers, is this what you did?
Just generate a ticket on each machine. Install the Win 10 drive only long enough to get the DE then remove it and go back to Win 7. Down in the swamps not all internet is created equal. In less than 40 miles You'll go from a 2Gb Home 30Gb commercial Fiber Optics line to a 26.4 Kb dial-up connection. I could never run a speedtest so I'm not sure what speed the dial-up can upload. In the Days of 1-Way satellite internet the phone upload speeds were so slow that You couldn't get the Satellite Companies to give You a contract. Now there are 2-Way satellite providers like Excede it's too late. (3 seconds Latency doesn't help) Most people have already gone with Data plans from Cell providers. So with Bandwidth it's either the speed problems from dial-up, (Has Unlimited Usage LOL) or a small "Bandwidth Usage Cap" from the Cell Providers.
Well what you need to do is download the Anniversary Update, burn it to USB Stick or disc and sell it to all the swamp people, lol I do not know enough to speak to this: Just generate a ticket on each machine. Install the Win 10 drive only long enough to get the DE then remove it and go back to Win 7. Are you on dial up now?
Have to order the USB drives from The Egg since Walmart reduced the non-food stock in the Store by 50%-80%. Then Nobody could afford to pay Me anyway. Fortunately the economy is still above 3rd World Counties but if the price of Gasoline -aka- Petrol doesn't hit $3.50 US within a Year half the workforce is going to be going out of State like it was in 1986 to 1988 I'm at the half-way point, got a UVerse 12.0 connection
NewEgg is a good place to shop, if the gator people don't have cash, well, er, barter I'm waiting on Enthousiast answer the DE question
+1 Even is this is real: Just generate a ticket on each machine. Install the Win 10 drive only long enough to get the DE then remove it and go back to Win 7. I bet MS will find a way to defeat it on Anniversary Update.
(14367) Well, Well, Well yet another build that I seem to have issues (Unable to Install) with. ............. Gets to 100% (Section just before you have to choose apps and settings to keep) dissapears, then nothing (pointing out here that at the moment I am only concerned with the upgrade process and the fluidity of said process, albeit that I have had similar issues with fresh installs) Previously (14366) Would not install if connected to the internet (2 machines), disconnected, installed.. (Unbelievable, yes?...) ............. Intel RAID (Performance issues) with W10 in-box driver v13, reverted to much older driver v11 (much improved write speed) ............. HPT RAID (Again - Missing or 0 sized file issues, predominently Video files), Seems W10 would prefer this Disabled at install ............. UP and Running this Build seems to meet the bill.. pretty sweet (14361) Could not get to install, Xonar Phoebus, HPT Rocket Raid issues, removed but still no luck (14352) Could not get to install, nVidia, Epson R265 issues, removed but still no luck (14342) Installed, ............. Intel RAID (Performance issues) with W10 in-box driver v13, Tried Modded (Win-RAID) driver v13 (improved write speed) ............. No apparent HPT issues, Lost (Non-Visible) Taskbar, Start Menu Icons.. But if you knew where they (and relevent context menu) were supposed to be, you could still use them (14332) Installed, ............. Intel RAID (Performance issues) with W10 in-box driver v13, reverted to older driver v12 (improved write speed) ............. HPT RAID (Again as in 10586.0 - Missing or 0 sized file issues, predominently Video files) (14316) Installed, (On Brothers Machine) ............. Inconsistant performance - Graphics, Unable to maintain User settings etc.. I have got to say that all these glitches and inconsistencies accross builds gives this OS a bit of an endearing personality... Happy Days, .. bring on the next one
