An SFC /Scannow command in cmd as admin seems to have fixed error 0x80246019 so far and I am currently downloading build 14385 on Windows Update
Downloading esd manually isn't going to make download any faster. But I did download it from wzor as I came across same error message and esd deleted from WU. I usually always upgrade using WD without any problems and make my ISO from it ESD file.
I agree with you. Every time I upgrade it Windows 10 installs unwanted apps, old graphics driver, mouse driver, and System Restore back to disable.
Downloading it manually will assure you have to only download it once, when something goes wrong during the WU process it will begin to download again
That is true. I'll do it that way for now on. Capture my update link and manually download it. Then there a waiting game for someone to release a decrypt key.
Most of the time, 15min after pushing an insider preview to WU, someone will succesfully upgrade and publish the new rsa cryptokey from: Code: C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther\windlp.state.xml
You don't need to wait for the upgrade, just for it to finish downloading the build and begin the "Preparing to install" stage, it decrypts the ESD and writes the key to windlp.state.xml
Finally upgraded to 14385 without clean install. It just worked after hours seeing error 0x80246019. I did nothing so it was clearly a Microsoft's servers problem.
Don't have a fix for you for the apps, haha. But... the drivers I learned a trick last year this time that still works, keeps drivers from upgrade to upgrade. Just need to do this once and as long as the driver is WHQL certified it stays through anything except clean installs of course. Dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase from elevated command prompt. I have used it on tablets that don't have the wifi driver pre-installed with Windows 10 as well as older graphics drivers. The driver even stays with a full reset of the OS so run that once after all your drivers are installed and you're set.
just noticed everything I've posted makes no sense. I use those """"stable"""" insiders build as main anyway.
Well, I was talking about if your WU upgrade install goes bad and restores your previous version, you have to begin the download all over again if you are using WU. But you only have to download the .esd once--whether the install completes successfully being irrelevant as you have nothing else to download.
I think what you should, anytime you have a problem with anyone, you feel superior too is contact a Mod or someone in Admin, the people that come here, do so for help, not to hear members squabble, I have nothing else to say on matter, Please contact a Mod for help if you feel the need too.
