When I try to boot the first time I upgraded to 14388, I always get a SYSTEM_EXCEPTION CLASSPNP.SYS BSOD. And I've been upgrading to Insider ever since.
Man I can't wait to delete those windows.old folders... Do a clean install and not worry about updates till April -May or whenever rs2 comes out.
I saw it. When are they going to completely remove old UI? I am tire of coming back to see traces of old Windows features in Windows 10. Perhaps they will remove them in the final build.
This build is safe to install on my main PC and keep updating until the final version of Redstone appears or stay in 10586 and wait? Note: This comment was on the 14383 thread by mistake. Sorry for that
Yes, but with upgrades comes high chances of bugs that clean installs don't have, and upgrading from preview to final could carry preview bugs to the final Always a good idea to clean install the RTM build
So, if I install this build and today appears 14390 (for example) the best option is perform a clean install? Thanks
When the RTM arrives, best to go for a clean install, until then, it's your choice, doesn't really matter if the builds are arriving every 2 days, but when RTM arrives, you want the most stable install possible, so clean install is advised
No bug from the past. This is not win 95. The in place upgrade does a full new installation, then imports some data from the old one. Hence, in the practical worst scenario, there may be something wrong in the user profile not the whole installation. In that case, if you really don't want to understand what happened, just create a new user. Still way safer and faster than a dumb clean installation.
