The upgrade process itself takes obviously some more time, but the time not wasted after the process....
The most interesting part is when Dona talks about the new way of releasing builds. This fall we probably won't need entire 3Gb builds anymore and we could get "delta" patches for jump to next build instead.
Doesnt matter what year it is, Microsoft still has a bad rep for upgrades. Clean installs are always going to be more stable. Given that, I've been running upgrades from every preview and had very little problem so far.
