For Windows 10 Home 14905 users that experience the Settings app crashing because of missing dll. Copy LockdownUtil.dll to C:\Windows\System32. This was an issue in 14901 and may still be an issue in 14905. Link to file was here. LockdownUtil.dll from my Windows 10 Pro x64 14905. I will delete when 14905 is superseded. edit: Just noticed that this fix is unrelated to the previous two posts. That is a separate issue which I also share in Windows 10 Pro 14905. Build 14915 is now available. Link and file have been removed.
How is Microsoft going to fix the ring issue? I want to set it to fast before a clean install and it comes back again to Slow. I hope that I'll get a newer build skipping somehow this issue. Is there some way to change it via registry? Thanks
my other comps are picking up on fast ring......just wait for next week release hopefully u pick up something better.....d\l ESD do clean install....u should be ok.
Mine as well is set to fast ring. It can be unpredictable at times that it changes on it own accord like the way it happened in my previous build. That really surprised me. Nevertheless, I like build 14905. It is swift and Microsoft Edge is very responsive.
This new build is quite good despite the couple of bugs. Edge is a very, very fast browser. I think MS is doing a great job.
I'm a bit rusty, but I vaguely recall some method for being able to create an iso for a clean install from an ESD. Upon decrypting the esd, is it usable as-is for a USB media install, or is there a second process after that needed? Or perhaps there's some guide somewhere that explains this?
Convert/decrypt with abbodi1406's wimlib esd>iso converter, format USB Thumbdrive FAT32 and extract the iso to it, done
