The UWP file explorer is built into this build, you can start it with device portal, and it's files are located at C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.Windows.FileExplorer_cw5n1h2txyewy There's also a few new HoloLens related apps
I did a fresh install using the esd decrypted iso. It seems that no antivirus will install on the clean installation. Bitdefender that I normally use gets stuck on the configuring page. System starts to go funny. I reinstalled Windows again just in case, same thing. With a clean install I also tried Avast, AVG, and Antivir, no luck. I installed RS1, all my programs and Bitdefender, and updating to 14942. That seemed to work before the clean install, I just did it as I hadn't done so since mid way through the RS1 test builds. Either the issue is with the created ISO, or the antiviruses don't like the new Windows process handling in 14392. Since clean installs are technically unsupported any feedback through the hub wouldn't be used. Just thought I'd caution people!
If you look into EN-US Windows dir then you'll see locale subdirs for many other languages. I think that RU-RU has locales only for ru-ru and en-us and thus has smaller ESD.
Agreed ... I could not even return to previous build (inaccessible boot device) - fixable by clean install only (tried by other ways, but no luck)
Created my own iso and did an in-place upgrade install of 14942 from 14393.223, and it went perfectly the first attempt, took about ~35 minutes.
One thing I have noticed in this build is that it is very resourceful. That is a highly welcome development from Microsoft.
That's what I ended up doing essentially, and it works beautifully. If you clean installed 14942 from the created ISO like I did it doesn't work to well. No antivirus would install completely successfully. Bitdefender got stuck on the post install configuring (twice, on two separate clean installs), and would not progress any further. Avast would appear to install, but struggle to open when completed. Also the account could not be logged in. Avira was much the same, it got stuck half way through the installation, and AVG didn't work either. I thought initially it was to do with the different process handling, but I did do an upgrade install beforehand and it worked fine. I clean installed 14393, then without any updates, I just installed the antivirus and most of the other software and updated to 14942 using the setup directly from Windows off the very same USB stick I used for the clean install. Worked beautifully. Most things apart from the antiviruses did work with the 14942 clean install, but looking back on it the system runs better this way.
Since upgrading VM to this build, Update is broken. Always error 0x8024402F. Reset didn't change anything.
- can't set a Pin, when you get asked doing a clean-install - I got 3 times at some stage a "... extended file attributes are inconsistent ..." - Error, when doing a clean-install and once when I did an in-place-upgrade
