Tried the flight upgrade--it locked up and refused to finish and restored 14942...am downloading the esd now to go from iso.
Large Windows Store games like Gears of War 4, ReCore, Killer Instinct, Forza Horizon 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider might fail to launch Keep that in mind...
Did not see it mentioned but with this build 14946 i just hit ctrl-alt-del for the first time and the background color is now a new red color. /edit all back to the plain ole blue after a reboot.
Success here, too. Soon as I moved to the iso, 14946 installed first time, no errors. (Mounted the ISO on a separate hard drive partition/separate physical drive and *upgraded* over 14942 without incident!) I experienced the second failure consecutively for the "flight" upgrade to 14942, and then to 14946, however. I note that I had a version of MalwareBytes installed but not active when I successfully installed 14942 yesterday on top of 14393.223 via ISO; but today I uninstalled MWB completely and found that the flight upgrade from 14942 to 14946 failed--but, again, that upgrading 14942 to 14946 sailed through via the ISO.
I tried installing 14942 and 14946 on a DELL Inspiron 5559 that came with Ubuntu, but after (Express settings) I get "Just a moment" for a very very long moment and the installation fails. However, Windows 10 RS1 14393 installs fine!! Windows 7 installs successfully but gets a blue screen with ACPI error after first reboot.. but uploading the proper drivers during installation fixes it.
On my 2nd system i get WU errors when i'm on the Fast ring, when i change it to Release Preview ring it doesn't show the error. EDIT: once every few times i try WU it works but no IP downloads are offered.
I realized that most of my problems with 14942 also applied to 14946 and it was mostly caused by Adguard. My first attempt to upgrade from 14936 (I reverted back from 14942 because of the problems with the internet connection failing all the time) resulted in an installation stucked at 81%. After waiting for an hour with no progress at all I powered off my Surface Book and restored back to 14936. After that I uninstalled Adguard and boom, the installation went right through. I tried to reinstall Adguard after the upgrade to 14946 without any problems. But the connection problems reoccured and I shut off Adguard. But there were still problems with my connection even if Adguard wasn't running at all and wasn't even started automatically with Windows. I had to completely deinstall it again to solve my connection problems. I'm now using the Adblock extension for Edge and everything seems to be fine. There is obviously a problem with the WFP driver in the recent two builds that prevents programs such as Adguard from working properly. Fortunately there is already an entry in the Feedback Hub for that problem. I think this is the same problem that is preventing third party AVs from running properly.
