That has nothing to do with the possibility of esd's disappearing from WU. Fast ring stuff will get offered on the slow ring when msft has some confidence it's good enough for public testers, who they hope will become insiders. Nobody NEEDS fast ring esd's when UUP upgrading works, only nuts like us want them to distribute/modify/play with That's not a fast ring esd.
Only time will tell. ESD is already fragmented and would possibly remain like that until there is no other possible means(registry tweak) to get the full ESD other than resorting to UUP.
I just reacted on the remark that 14393 users NEED to get esd's to install insider previews, i say, they also can use the public insider iso msft regularly releases.
Possibly the UUP will apply to them in the next update. They might not need ESD to maintain their OS when upgrading next time.
That 1.96GB file size doesn't state it is install ESD we are used to. I saw that file with system...name among other fragments after extraction.
It opens, and when I go to open a file there are a bunch of extensions I have never seen. Remix 3D goes to a website.
I can't seem to find the windows Defender Dashboard. The new feature is missing from my Windows 10 Education system.
One issue I do have with this build. I don't know if it is my old video card GeForce 9600 GT or my third monitor plugged into USB, but when the monitors go to sleep, and I wake them up all I can do is move the cursor around. Two monitors are blank, and the USB shows what I had on before, but there is no response from cursor, or control alt delete or anything, and I must power off with the power button.
I have been able to get every Insider Build to install going back to 9841 thru 14971. But 14986 is kicking my butt. So far I have not got 14986 to install. Tried UUP Windows Update, .reg Windows Update, .ISO from .ESD. Same thing happens. 14986 starts installing, gets to 32% installed, reboots then reverts to 14971. No reason given for rollback. One thing left to try. Clean Install, but if it fails to install this time no rollback will happen. I will be left with NO working Win 10. Microsoft Forums have hundreds of people with this very same problem. This has been written on 14971.
