For those interested in installing on VirtualBox, this Windows 10 build 15007 installed fine on VirtualBox 5.1.13r112787 with Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.1.13-112787 and VBoxGuestAdditions_5.1.13-112770. While it is too early to conclude, this update has been running for the second day with no crashes and the screen resizing is cleaner without artifacts. I tried all things (known to me) that would lead to crashing, but it seems reasonably stable.
Anyone also suffers from audio issues? Like stutters? Foobar exclusive mode says that the audio device is in use... only by whom... I suspect Cortana thou.. setting default device to something else solves it, but something is really fishy going on. Disabling hey cortana fixes it. It seems that's not the issue with the VR service... it is one more bug.
Had this issue in the previous build. It caused youtube playback issues, switching to another audio device fixed the playback. What I did is to create a batch file which stops audio service and starts it again. Try reinstalling sound card drivers , including video card drivers (since it also installs hdmi audio driver which may cause the issue). If you want to create a batch file , use " sc stop SERVICE_NAME (Audiosrv -windows audio service)" but it may depend on other audio services so use the command to disable them first and then stop the win audio service. Then just use the same command to start the services ( sc start Service_Name) . I don't have this issue on this build, but this time I removed audio drivers and installed them again, previously I just tried to install them without removing the drivers I had.
I fixed with driver mishmash... mostly with intel -overall, asmedia USB3 and samsung 950Pro nvme driver. Couldn't pin out really the real cause. Now it works .
I'll try this build for see if the Intel drivers bug is fixed in HP old models or not Result: GSOD system thread exception not handled. After a research, the meaning maybe is that the graphic card of this old pc is not supported now!!!
Is the system icon in settings now working? In 15002 for me is a blue rectangle and I don't know if is because of the upgrade or I need to perform a clean install. Thanks in advance.
If it is anything to go with, unlike the previous Build 14997, it is located at the 'Advanced Options' at the Windows Update Settings and it is now replaced with 'Pause Updates'.
