What?, as far as i know the vulkan driver i mentioned i'ts a normal nvidia driver, a beta with the latest vulkan drivers, so i don't know what you mean when you say that my entire system is being rendered on vulkan.
Vulkan drivers just use Vulkan unless nvidiot changed that but it's a driver to only to test and building vulkan apps and games the other api's where removed to remove any issues
Yes, thanks much, Fernando!...Unfortunately, a successful scannow run that either fixes violations or else doesn't find any integrity violations does *nothing* to alleviate the problem I am having with a dead tile in the start menu...! I was hoping that a successful dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth run to correct the problem...ah, but no! *cough* *sneeze* *choke* Heh.....sputter.... I am considering giving away a substantial portion of arable land in the Mideast to the person who successfully engineers a solution to ridding my start menu of this single unimpeachable dead, unpinned, uninstalled tile--I was thinking of awarding everything in the vicinity of Israel (except for Israel, of course...) See my original post on the subject for a listing of the convoluted solutions I have already tried that haven't worked.....
Let me see if i understand what you said, soo this vulkan drivers make render all the system (W10 UI) under vulkan api?, are you sure about that????
Just to discard that possibility, thing that i really doubt, i've uninstalled 376.66 with DDU and installed Hotfix driver 376.60 (non vulkan developer driver), no taskbar bug, even after some restarts and cold boots, soo i don't think this is an "Nvidiot" problem, at least not directly.
Thanks for testing, well to rule out 3rd party, both the native install and one of the VM installs are both untouched clean installs, no 3rd party Definitely something to do with the graphics as disabling 3D acceleration in VMWare solves the problem
lets just clear this up. VULKAN Since we have had vulkan api supports in AMD it is a non issue but as an AMD GPU user we have a better understanding. In order for the GPU to render in Vulkan the game or app has to be coded with the Vulkan api. The driver for Nvidia add Vulkan api support and some tools for developers as I understood the Nvidia Driver with Vulkan Support. Nothing in windows will run with Vulkan unless it already has explicit Vulkan support already coded. Very very few games are vulkan compatible and as far as I know no app render with vulken. So can we just not even go there or at least keep the information mostly correct.
1. Yes, but this is happening on two different machines, one of which is VMWare 2. Yes, but this bug can be cured by disabling 3D acceleration in VMWare so nothing to do with fast startup 3. No
Mmmmm...., any particular MoBo brand?, processor model?, GPU brand, Vram manufacturer?; There still the possibility of an incompatibility/conflict with specific hardware and nvidia drivers.
Not really, one is a 10 year old PoS and the other is my gaming machine, IMO it's just a bug with the last three 15xxx builds and will be fixed in time Not wasting any time trying to fix it when it all worked fine in the 14xxx builds, with no changes my side, only difference is the build number of the OS
Well, that's fair, not a really big problem, at least for deal with it for a week (i hope), but..., it's a really intriguing issue Good luck with the next build man.
This is the only build my touchpad works flawlessly. I have been facing not very responsive touchpad since I have been an Insider.
When is Microsoft going to get rid of the old Windows Defender? In fact, the UI is ugly . I can't wait to see the UWP Windows Defender becomes the default Security tool in coming release.
No one cares about the UI of an AV, except few fanboys and kids. The problem here is not the UI, is that the program is a completely useless resource eater and spyware. Uninstall it is the only intelligent thing that one can do.
T-S as usual. You will never agree to something and you will possibly fall for anything. However, I prefer the UWP Defender UI because it is more appealing to the eyes and robust in terms of the features. I don't think it consumes more resources than any other security tools out there.
